None of this is a surprise.... is he worth the 47 mil? nope. but its his contract so as a guy that cant get that on the street... take the money and run.

Hopefully for his sake he decides to actually save every dollar he gets after taxes in Cali, so prob less than half

In hindsight, One of the best signings of all time by Sam Presti to this contract

Ended up paying Russ for 1 year at 35 mil, flipped him to Houston for Chris Paul, which gave them a legit season to be excited for and then flipped him to the Suns for a pick and a few players, then the cherry on top is they get to watch the Lakers involuntarily pay Westbrook 90 mil over the course of 2 seasons and potentially burn out the rest of the clock on Lebron viable prime

Knew a few people that legitimately thought Russ wouldn’t pick up his option. As terrible as he was last season he didn’t have a choice.

I think you, or the people you talked to, were confusing him for Kyrie.

No one thought Westbrook would opt out. Woj was floating the idea that Kyrie would opt out of his 37 mil option and sign with the lakers for the 6 mil exception- which was obviously BS

Holy shite. Who ever agreed to that contract is insane. Whoever agreed to trade for that contract just be the worst gm ever.

Lakers should have turned Westbrook into a 25 min. A game bench player last year.

Then see if his pride would have caused him to leave.

Injuries to Davis and Nunn derailed that possibility

Yep...and all come back, so get to see what could be under a different coach

See how it goes when healthy.
