Two thing that have remained high points with 3 of my sons who played baseball at the same HS and were all very good players over a span of 13 years is that they made lifelong friends and to this day continue to answer me with “yes sir, no sir”, etc.

They say this to every adult in conversation. I noticed this much more once they began organized sports and especially playing for their JV/HS Coach. Kudos to that man.

Not exactly the same but my kid has started every football game both ways for his 8th grade team. Started 0-3 and now in championship. Had a lot of injuries early, now several kids are coming back, and switched D scheme. He thinks he’s not going to start or play much. It’s in a HS stadium on Saturday night.

Basically I told him the same you did.
