Yes 40yo Lewis is still a top 10 fighter in UFC that is probably headed to retirement & has ties to New Orleans

Shawn Jordan is… not

ETA: Were you reading about the New Orleans event back in 2015?

I that is reasonable for Islam to ask topuria to beat a top 5 guy first. He is the one risking the LW and #1P4P title on the line.

if hooker comes out and finishes gaethje with another impressive gritty performance could be in the mix depending on location of the fight, likewise gaethje could do the same.

Absolutely not. No one wants to see Islam break Hooker’s arm in the 1st rd again.

And Gaethje? Let’s look at his history.
-lost title shot to khabib
- beat Chandler
-lost title shot to Olivera
-beat Fiziev
-beat Dustin
-gets KOed by max
-beat hooker
-get another title shot? Two title shots with a 1 win streak? I don’t think so.

you do realize poirier just fought for the belt on a 1 fight win streak? you do realize that michael chandler was in a title eliminator fight with charles oliviera? If this was on credentials only we would be waiting for the tsarukyan fight. anyone in the top 5 or so can jump into a title fight depending on the circumstances. a fight with hooker in australia would be huge. a fight with gaethje anywhere will be a big fight. if either of those guys make a statement they will be in the mix for the title.

I personally think that tsarukyan deserves the title shot.

Poirier - Diaz

Nate Diaz is probably a top 3 all time favorite UFC fighter for me. Man I wish he would just hang it up. Do not want to see that guy as the punching bag just so Poirier can go out with a win.

So you think they book Holloway for Poirier’s hometown farewell? I just feel like they want him to who out getting his hand raised at least. Not that he couldn’t beat Max..but it could go the other way easily. None of the other guys on the list seem reasonable. I say Diaz because it sells tickets and is a easy Poirier W

I think it will be Topuria. Max doesn’t make sense he already beat him twice.

I hope you’re right. Personally want them to book Ilia vs Arman with winner facing Islam. I think Ilia/Arman is just an insane matchup. Charles/Max seems like the fight to make right now too.

When asked if ilia vs Islam Is next dana basically said they are working on a few different matchups for ilia so I definitely don’t see Islam being next for him

Man. Dustin and Ilia? And in NOLA? That's not even some crusty legends fight, that would be a legit bout between two top titans. It keeps getting even more epic.

Dana was asked if Cejudo v Song should be done again and he was like "Not at all".

Yeah it would be a great bout and very deserving of poirier retirement.

Look how Topuria talked of the fight.

I will be so pumped if that fight gets made it will be a legit fight of the year contender.

It’s obviously gotta be option #1 for Dustin. What a way to go out

Pumped for the increased likelihood of Dustin-Ilia, but what do they do with Tsarukyan if he isn’t next for a title shot? Say what you want about Arman but he’s a top contender and needs an opponent, not Charles or Max.
