If yall wouldn't be so insufferable about the whole name thing, everyone would calm the frick down.

when your SID called EPSN ESP-Bristol3, it really summarized how insecure your athletic department is, it's how your arrogant for no reason fan base feels, and it's why you'll never win the battle you're trying to fight.

Honestly, I don't know a single person who gives a flying frick about the name. Seriously. This whole controversy is made up by a vocal minority with nothing better to do. Imagine the Rant in the 90s, if you will.

As for LSU as a university, I made a 29 on my ACT and had the GPA and chose ULL over LSU. Maybe if LSU didn't chug dongs at Computer Science, I'd have gone there, but in the end, I ended up in Lafayette. Point is that if you're choosing based on your field of study without letting football influence your decision, there are extremely logical, obvious reasons why someone would go to a school in Louisiana that isn't LSU, ULL included.

Overall, everyone getting defensive and bitchy over this same stupid arse argument is stupid. ULL folks who have to bitch about LSU and pull LSU into every single situation are idiots. People from LSU who think that somehow their General Studies or English degrees are better than any degree you could get at ULL are equally as idiotic (which is redundant, I suppose, considering that they'd even admit to those degrees). Academically, the two aren't really that far apart overall. In football, LSU is on another level, which is fine. I enjoy seeing ULL build something decent and supporting that. I still support LSU, and I don't really care about some fabricated bullshite "rivalry". Why is this concept so hard to grasp for college aged and older adults? At the end of the day, this is still just college athletics.

TL;DR: ULL people need to get over this penis envy bullshite. LSU people need to stop validating themselves through this notion that anyone who didn't go to LSU in the state is jealous and was too stupid to get in.

at any Louisiana public university fan talking shite about another's academics. We're not exactly known for smarts in the boot. It's like a midget making fun of a dwarf.

If ULL or LSU loses I don't really care all that much. It's not a big deal. I hope they win all of their games, but I won't lose sleep over a loss.

One of the best things about having an allegiance to basically just the Saints is none of the added drama. There's one pro football team in Louisiana, just one. They are able to represent the entire state.

LSU is the example. Any university with a big time athletics program will have these or any team that is a source of local pride. Don't be fooled. There are ULL fans on here shite talking everything LSU that just live in Lafayette and that's it.

You'll get no argument from me there. Despite your impression of me, I'm actually pretty level headed. I see good and I see clowns on both sides. I don't think ULL is on the same level as LSU athletically and have never claimed it. But given where we are, I'm damn proud of my school for winning tonight and I'll continue to troll the people who shite on it as accomplishing nothing.

I have no god damn impressions. The game thread was hilarious. I trolled the shite out of it, but the university dick measuring comes with the caveat you have something to do with it. In your case, you encompass both sides. You go to ULL but you're a sidewalk LSU fan. It's frankly, perplexing to me.

What if I told you that MOST people in Louisiana grew up as LSU fans, and that doesn't just disappear because you go to another university for whatever reason. When I was planning on going to law school, I planned on transferring to LSU. When I decided to switch to Computer Science, I went to ULL. I'm not going to stop supporting LSU, but I'm still going to support the school I attend as well. They don't even play each other. The success of one has no effect on the other.

Like I said, to each his own.

I chose not to give up watching LSU football just because I went to school somewhere else. I support the frick out of my own school. But LSU football was something I always enjoyed and formed a bond with my dad over. He's passionate about LSU but he watched the Cajuns and rooted for them with me tonight. Watching LSU is something we both enjoy, so I'm not anxious to give that up. Yeah, I'm a sidewalker but I'm ok with it.

you won't the academic argument out of me.

it's whatever. I got into to LSU and ULL and ended up choosing mcneese. I made a decision based on me.

I grew up an LSU fan but find myself caring about LSU football less and less. It's not because of another team, I just find the older I get, the less I care.

But, I just don't like the arrogance of ULL. You may not exhibit it, but there are a large majority of your base that do. And it really turns me off to the university as a whole.

I think the rabid fanatics of college football make it less fun. Not a popular opinion, but just my opinion. I wish I could get my saints enthusiasm down to where my tulane football enthusiasm is. Watch them, go to games. Enjoy it win or lose.

I honestly really can't say that I have encountered many people who act that way about the team. I do know a few people like that, and I tell them whenever I can how pathetic and embarrassing they are when they start their shite. The majority of people I know are just excited to have a team that's winning games and bowls to go to. I really don't care that much about college football in general these days either. I just think that both sides are the same obnoxious breed of person, and they're just going to be miserable forever.

It really has killed my love of college football. As I get older, I just can't justify committing myself to something that requires so much misery and pessimism to be labelled a "real fan".
