It would be like if Lebron played in the NBA and had to play against the best teams in europe at the same time except the difference in level of play between the NBA and other basketball leagues is laughable.
Understood, I really do understand.

My question would then be are you stating that if Lebron did this, he then would not be the best player in the world? Obviously, he's still the best, so...

Now let's flip it, instead of a Premier League, la Liga, and all the others, what if there was only 1 single league where all of the best soccer players played in each season like the NBA, wouldn't that logically be more competition for Ronaldo night in and night out?

I'm saying I'd be more impressed with him if he did.

More impressed than him doing against the actual best players every night, every playoff, every Finals, every season? I guess I just don't get it.

Wouldn't it be more impressive if all of those 5 best leagues turned into 1 league and only the best of the best were in that league, and then Ronaldo did what he does(as I'm sure he still would) playing against the best collection of talent every single game?

Imagine Lebron racking up a few titles while never having to play KD or Steph because they were each in another league...I just don't see how that would be more competitive/impressive for Lebron to do, winning titles without facing ALL of the best of the best to get to said title.

But why? Why does lebron have to compete against massively and obscenely inferior leagues and talent? That makes absolutely no logical sense in any way, shape, or form

Because it isnt that way in Soccer. Most of the leagues top teams are around the same level.

But thats not what I'm saying. I understand that's how soccer is set up. I'm just completely puzzled as to why that's a knock against lebron

Shel has taken the W in this debate.

It is decided.

Wouldn't Ronaldo face more competition if those 5 leagues took the best of the best and just had 1 top of the top league, and all the best soccer players in the world played a 40 game season and determined a team champ and MVP?

How would that NOT be more competitive?

But Ronaldo does have to play guys that are on KD and Steph's level. It's just that there's a few dozen of those guys in soccer.

My point is, Ronaldo can win a title, I mean, a legit title and the equivalent of an MVP award in a league where he never has to play Messi for that specific title and MVP, right?

Lebron doesn't have that luxury.

I see where you are coming from and I understand your argument. The argument im making is that ronaldo is the best player in the world in a game with probably a couple 10s of thousands more players. The competition level in the NBA isnt all that high.

Name me the teams in the finals for the last 5 years and ill name you the teams in the champions league final for the last 5. Point im making is that the NBA season hasnt even started and I bet you can pretty much name a team in the NBA Finals already.

He's been in the same league with Messi for the last decade.

Now that he's moving to Italy, he still has to play Icardi, Milinkovic-savic, Alisson, Koulibaly, Insigne, etc.

That's a fair point. But I think it would apply more to NBA role players and those types of dudes.

We obviously would never know, but considering Lebron is at worst the 2nd best basketball player the world has ever seen, I think it's a somewhat safe bet that he'd still be right up there even if the NBA had more soccer-like worldwide popularity.

What in the world does that have to do with the individual talents in the NBA?

Bad example

But you get my point, pick a great player from the Premier League, point still stands.

But not Messi, and not other great current soccer players. Again, a luxury Lebron does not have to win titles and MVPs.
