It'd be pretty funny if UT fans bitching got Schiano a job 10x better.

OSU would roll to 10 wins without Urban this year. Schiano is a hell of a coach and the OC knows the offense.

If he gets fired and the O/U drops below 10, I'm tossing serious money at it. shite like this can galvanize a team for a season.

You'll lose a lot of money. There will be no team chemistry. Coaching issues like this will tear away at position groups and cause infighting. If I gambled, I'd bet a ton of money on OSU to under perform on every projection this year.

“Restraining orders don’t do anything in Ohio,” Courtney Smith texted back

Courtney claimed Zach shoved her against a wall and strangled her all while their then 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter were in the room. Police were called but the incident did not progress to any arrests.

What the hell is going on in Ohio?

I know most jurisdictions for a DV incident, the police arrest one of the parties (whom they deem the aggressor if they are both fighting) to at least separate them for the night. Somebody has to leave the house.

Former Ohio State football player Bri’onte Dunn, who was kicked off the team earlier this week, was involved in an alleged domestic incident with a female near campus over the weekend.

See, the thing is CUM can no longer be seen as impartial. With players or coaches. He will resign.

It’s why the concept of Shelley saying nothing to Urban is, while possible, so improbable. Shelley Meyer is a strong woman. She is also a registered nurse and an instructor at Ohio State’s College of Nursing and thus is bound by Title IX statutes to report abuse. Urban Meyer, as a coach, is also mandated to report it.

Perhaps, but it can also derail a team. Ohio State went 6-7 after Tressel got canned.

I mean he's saying he needs to be fired IF he knew...and I think most people would agree.

Are we really going to pretend it's possible he didn't know when his wife was texting this woman about this shite on the reg? Really?

Yes... replace the guy who looked the other way when one of his coaches was committing domestic abuse with a guy who might have looked the other way when a coach he worked with was molesting children.

BRILLIANT!

The stuff I read about title IX said sexual assault and sexual harassment. Does domestic abuse fall under that?

I'm not sure if it covers abuse of a non-player or non-employee.

True but remember that when that happened 5 starters including Terelle Pryor were suspended for most of the season with Pryor electing to go to the NFL via the supplemental draft. Their poor showing that year had more to do with losing top shelf talent rather than the distractions of losing their coach.

If he lied about the situation so boldly he should be fired.

If he would have said a week ago "hey we heard these things when they happened but wanted to let the legal system run it's course, that was a bad decision and it's on me" then it's probably forgivable. But you can't lie so boldly like that about such a sensitive subject.

The OSU policy considers domestic violence an act of sexual misconduct. There is a duty to report sexual misconduct involving anyone covered under the policy, and Smith would certainly be covered.
