I know we all joke about it, but how many of you believe NFL teams are legitimately trying to tank their seasons just to draft one player?

I think teams play out the first 1/2 of the season or until they are basically eliminated, see where they stand, then this Suck for Luck thing can be considered real.

it's mostly just a coping mechanism invented by fans to believe that their team doesn't suck as much as they really do.

i think down the stretch it might become real

when a team has accrued 10 or so losses they may just forfeit the rest of the season

My buddy gets upset every time the Hawks win. He wasn't happy they gave the dirty birds such a good game.

the delusional side of me thinks that manning taking the season off, just after signing a big contract is not a coincidence. luck would be the perfect replacement for manning.

I don't think it is delusional....think you're being realistic tbh. I thought the same thing.

I honestly think fans of some teams are starting to want to see their team lose.

Here in Miami, there is one am radio show in the morning (Sadono) that talks about it every single day. No way the coaches or organization wants to ever lose, but this guy on the radio was going through all the tie breakers and everything last week. Not just once but practically daily.

You think it's a coincidence that the Dolphins Gagged up a 15 point lead?

My sources say that the Owner called the locker room at halftime and says' "What the frick are you trying to do to the future of this franchise. Now go back out there and suck like you've never sucked before you clueless bastards."
The rest is history

they are the only team it really makes sense to try it. he would groom two years under manning, and then start when manning retires. i dont think the players in indy are willfully trying to lose, but i also dont think the team mgmt has tried to field the best product either.

There are ZERO players or coaches in the NFL that will lose on purpose to have a shot at drafting a college player. End of story.

If I were sold on anyone doing it, it would be the Colts. I don't think the players are sucking for luck, but I think the organization will just take advantage of having PM hurt and not really "improve" their situation.

PM will retire in 2 or 3 years and if they can blow one year in order to get the highest rated CFB QB since John Elway so that he can be groomed by one of the best QBs to ever play the game.. why not do it?

The Colts didn't even challenge 2 of the Saints TDs, and one of them was DEFINITELY not a TD.

They're not even trying to be competitive here. At least this week. I think they literally quit after the first pass on the first play of the game was incomplete.

I'm watching. I've seen no such play.

There was no evidence it wasn't. And if the ball crosses any part of the white line, it's a TD...

One of the shots of Jed's TD showed him down and then stretching out. Definitely was not a TD.

All scoring plays are reviewed in the booth. You are not allowed to challenge.
