Right now it looks like SMU has much more speed than does Nev.

I think Jones can make SMU into a carbon copy of his Hawai'i teams, with one exception more talent.

SMU with Jones is going to become a power much like TCU with Patterson. If the MWC is serious about adding Boise St and expanding, maybe SMU is worth serious consideration. The talent pool is there for them to recruit. Im not shocked at this at all.

With the way MWC is doing in bowls, they are becoming a top 3-4 conference.

Too much Kool-Aid.

The MWC has never been ranked higher than #6 by any of the BCS computers.

Agree the MWC is not a upper echelon conference.

But they're so close, seriously. It pisses me off that we're not hearing serious expansion talk. There is absolutely no reason not to add Boise State, Houston, and (enter 12th school here) and stage a title game.

An expanded Mountain West could have had a title game between undefeated Boise State and undefeated TCU, and the winner could have snuck in.

Just wondering, why didn't June Jones get a better better job at a bigger college? He did so well at Hawaii.....

Or bsu, Utah and byu could join the PAC 10 and smu and tcu could join the big 12 and let all those other teams sort themselves out. I think it's ridiculous that this is even being discussed. Eventually one of these 3 or 4 perennial powers is going to get snuck in conference and if you have them as an auto qualifier we're gonna wind up with an 8-4 Nevada or Utah state in a bcs bowl they have no business being apart of.

Let's be honest...the WAC and the MWC have 4 teams collectively that every now and then are Maybe worthy of a bcs shot...why should the rest of the teams in those conferences be considered good too? They aren't. There are a couple bcs conferences looking to expand, the good teams need to join or shut up.

I wouldn't be suprised if Jones starts stealing some skill position recruits in Texas from the likes of of UT, aTm, and OU.
