I hate to be that guy but Kap makes a controversial political stance and guys like this say "it's his right to express his opinion and everyone should respect it!!!"

Brady just goes "I'm friends with trump"

Wish celebs would keep their politics to themselves. Ditto for Pop.

The melt is funny, though.

Yeah I think the most outspoken Brady has been about anything is that MAGA hat in his locker during training camp and he went to a George Bush Inaguration or something like that back after one of their early super bowl wins

If you listen to the full WEEI interview from Monday, Brady completely deflects the question about Trump and gives a ho-hum answer, then when the hosts were moving off topic Brady actually brings it back up in astonishment that his support for a friend of over 15 yrs is actually a story at all.

He then goes on to say that he does not support all of Trumps views, but that people are still friends with people that they don't agree with politically and likes to take a positive approach to the world because there is so much negativety today.

Brady showed support for his friend, a guy who's had his back for years and oh by the way was friends with when Trump was a self proclaimed Democrat 15 yrs ago, yet the LeBron's of the world publicly campaign for a woman he doesn't even know just because she is affiliated with the same party the media is largely affiliate with and no one says one crossed word.

Case in point why Trump won the election. ... And will probably gain further support from independents and working class midwest whites who have voted Blue for 50 yrs... because of the insane media climate that currently exists. I'm not a big Trump fan either, but now I'll pull the lever for him in 4 yrs simply out of spite.

WEEI Brady Interview

Trump stuff starts around 17:00

So L.James can actively support Hilliard Clinton at rallies and social media but Brady can't do anything similar?

It's the MAGA hat in his locker & the fact that he skipped the time the patriots went to the WH (Granted, a number of athletes have done this before).

It's very edgy, dude. People see them do that on the late-night comedy shows they watch. He's either making fun of people like that, or he's brainwashed himself and he doesn't even know it.

over three million viscerally angry people around the world to protest his presidency,

That's a stupid point. Comes off as self important, which is basically the whole reason Trump was elected in the first place.

3 million "around the world" out of 7 billion is a drop in the bucket. You could probably find 3 million people who would protest that the earth is round and truly believe that it's flat. Obviously that doesn't make it so.

How is this any different than Obama inviting NBA players to shoot hoops?

You won't find me in many threads supporting Trump. But where the frick does this woman get off writing a bland think-piece on who she deems as a quality friend? Jesus tapdancing Christ. You don't approve of a relationship? That's fine. That's also none of your fricking business. Obama was one of the most divisive presidents in modern memory. I don't remember any op-eds about slamming his celeb friends because he wasn't universally liked.

Nah, comparing disdain for Obama and Trump ain't right.

Obama was hated because he was half black and had a non-Anglican sounding name. Period. Now, later he did say some dumb SH-t (if I had a son.....) but when push came to shove he was a pro business moderate with some social leanings to the left.

Trump is a megalomaniac. A reality TV show host. Someone who was so rich all his life he never had any accountability.

Anyone who genuinely supported Trump is just as intellectually dishonest as anyone who supported Hillary.

The radical partisanship allowed these two worthless candidates to be the only choices for president. The American people are the losers
