I agree Jackson is a big upgrade over Turner. Turner is a slow and out of shape fullback now. Jackson might not have the speed he once had be he certainly is in shape and can still run downhill. I just wish we could get a Bell in the draft so we can have a young bruiser (since it seems the organization believes it's necessary) instead of picking up some past-prime guys.

The point is, that Rodgers has shown enough to be the guy and he fits really well into the offense. Bringing in sjax doesn't add anything to the falcons roster.

Yahoo's Jason Cole says that "based on what was happening" at the Combine, free agent Steven Jackson's "likely landing spot" is Atlanta.

I wonder what made him come to that conclusion.

I have got to disagree with this. Averaging less than 4 a carry and having 2 career touchdowns is not "fitting really well." He is way too small to be an every down back. He definitely needs to be staggered with someone else, or become a 3rd down back with someone different carrying the workload.

I would be happy with this trade but would still want to bring in a back in the middle rounds...Gio Bernard or Johnathon Franklin type

The falcons never use him near the endzone, and no one was running particularly well behind that line. He is effective and fits what they do.

ETA: as a saints fan though, by all means marginalized your best back and hire a has been.

you like jacquizz way too much. steven jackson is light years better right now. i dont think it is gonna do crazy things to the offense as i hope we continue to throw the frick out of it, but he is much better than jacquizz. that much i am certain of.
