SI Report: Rodgers would regularly change McCarthy’s play calls

"[Rodgers changes plays] so often that it can be hard for McCarthy to get into a rhythm as the play caller," Kahler wrote. "McCarthy might call the same play three times in a game, without the play actually being run as he called it. And if McCarthy calls a play that Rodgers doesn’t like early in the game, that can sour the mood for the rest of the game."

Sounds like Aaron is hard to coach?

This shouldn’t shock anyone.
If I remember correctly, While favor was with the NYJ’s he overturned certain gameplans days before a matchup if he didn’t like them.

To be honest, Rodgers comes across as an arrogant jerk.
Great QB, but a jerk.

Locker room cancer
And he’s washed up
Why would anyone want the GB job?

Is this significantly different than most other elite veteran quarterbacks? They’re changing all kinds of plays at the line.

How exactly is a jerk?
I think you’d be a bit pissed off at management when you have to career an entire franchise on your back. Rodgers kept McCarthy employed as a HC longer than McCarthy deserved. Furthermore, GB has done very little to surround Rodgers with talent during his time in GB.

Yea but this sounds like he was doing it to spite the coach. Everybody knows qb’s change plays, so they wouldn’t write about it unless it were negative.
A-Rod is an arse

I think guys like Brees, Brady, etc are working in cahoots with their playcaller

I doubt this is it.
More like not calling the correct two plays in the huddle.

Lol Greg Jennings said this is what Favre would do and was the reason McCarthy wouldn't give Rodgers more leeway with changing the play at the line.

Rodgers is a douche but I don't have a problem with this. I'd imagine lots of QBs change calls, and guys with Rodgers' resume probably get a lot more leeway to do it. Comes off as sour grapes this leaking now.

Saban wont stand for that.
He wouldn't but then Rodgers would pick him and probably throw him down the field.
Players loved to troll Nick Saban in Miami.

According to some of his teammates, Traylor—then a 14-year NFL veteran and winner of three Super Bowls—had a clause in his contract that relieved him of conditioning duties. So, instead of sprinting with the rest of the team, Traylor set off on a leisurely jog. When he realized that Saban was eyeing him, Traylor began to taunt him, yelling, “Hey, Nick! Hey, Nick!” Traylor knew, as the rest of his teammates did, that Saban hated being called “Nick” by his players. He wanted them to address him as “Coach” or “Coach Saban,” just as his college players always had.
quote:
Thomas, because of his experience and talent, was a leader on the defense. He got a kick out of occasionally switching a Saban-called play in the defensive huddle, something his coach had begun to notice. Saban’s face contorted into rage when he heard Thomas yelling. He stopped practice and ran over to Thomas and told him to “shut the frick up.” Thomas told Saban to “shut the frick up” right back, then yelled, “I’m a grown-arse man!” As the two men went at it face-to-face, Thomas’s teammates sensed that the linebacker’s fury was placing him on the verge of doing something he would later regret, so they grabbed him by the shoulders and dragged him away as he continued to shout and point a finger at his head coach.

Kind of funny statement considering most guys that even sniff the conversation for the greatest of all time seem to elevate ok players into good players, and good players into great players.

You're assuming that Rogers was changing run plays to pass plays. Maybe he was doing the opposite on occasion or maybe he was changing pass plays to different pass plays.
