I've always thought that it was fricking retarded that the AL and NL have different rules. MLB should pick one, and make both sides use the same rules.

What's the rule in the world series? Is one team allowed to use a DH and the other isn't?

It's the same rule as interleague play.

Then they can hit then.

Because they are part of the same organization. Also with how stats oriented baseball seems to be.

The DH is stupid. You're basically making a rule to remove a core component of the game, hitting, because one position isn't as good at it.

That'd be like saying we'll have a guard sub in and shoot free throws for centers in the NBA. Nope. Free throws are part of the game. Get better at them.

You seriously don't know? And you're posting in here about the rules being fricking retarded?

GTFO.

Yep. Haven't watched a MLB game since the Sosa/McGuire home run race.

It doesn't have to be an all or nothing situation imo, even though that would make the most sense for both leagues to be the same. If the NL doesn't want to add it, that's fine, but I don't want it removed from the AL.

Because back in the days when men were men and we were whipping some Nazi asses, pitchers had to hit in both leagues. Because that's how Jesus intended it.

I'm no fan of the DH. If you are playing in the field, you should have to go to the plate and bat.

Just my opinion though.

I honestly don't mind that the AL uses it and the NL doesn't... my gripe is that all of the minor leagues, college baseball, and even HS uses the DH, so pitchers get no game-time practice at any level until they are thrown out there against a major league pitcher. I know they are for the most part good enough athletes to not look totally abysmal, but it's not quality baseball except for the occasional Bumgarner out there.

I think the NL farm teams should also have their pitchers hit, then it would be a better product hopefully at the major league level.

both leagues should play by the same rules, but I'm a little on the fence as to which way it should go.

Going by that logic, football should never have gotten rid of the one-platoon system. Having specialized football players go against the true nature of the game. A two platoon system basically allowed players to avoid playing positions that require skills they aren't necessarily good at.

DH in both. I'm sorry but there's nothing exciting about a pitcher batting and being an automatic out. What's their batting averages, .161?
