Should football play clocks have buzzers?

We see this in basketball and it works pretty well. It makes replay easier.
There is a fundamental issue in football that the ref has to look at the game clock and the. Back to the ball to see if it’s snapped.
In this scenario he could listen for a buzzer. It would also add a visiual element for review.
Kinda makes sense.

Yeah hell, juts a wrist band that vibrates, like in soccer.

I believe in the rule book it allows referee discretion when it comes to calling a delay of game within a second.
So a ref not throwing the flag immediately when it hits zero is not technically against the rules

the back judge has ONE responsibility after counting players and identifying his play keys... watching the play clock before the snap.. it's easy

quote:wrong... the ref(white hat is watching the snapper and qb.... not the play clock...

no shite. the thread is essentially asking if we should change this.
the answer is yes. if a clock hits 00, it should be a flag. you shouldn't have to wait until the ref sees it.

ok my point is, one person can’t watch both the ball and the clock.

If the clock was on one side of the field. Since they're on both sides of the field, one person most certainly can watch both.
