Guys like DeAndre Jordan and Andre Drummond are so macho that they get taken out of close games because they can't hit FTs

Hal Greer was always in the top 10 in NBA free throw shooting and he shot jump shots from the foul line. When asked why he said:
"When I shoot a free throw I'm practicing my jump shot. When I shoot a jump shot I'm practicing my free throws."
"When I shoot a free throw I'm practicing my jump shot. When I shoot a jump shot I'm practicing my free throws."

Elena Delle-Donne is a 6 foot 5 woman who shoots 93.6% in actual games. Yet guys in the NBA can't make 50%? I don't get it.
50% is an exaggeration but there are plenty who can't hit it at 70%.
Whole teams of male D-1 teams average less than 75%.
