Well now they get to see him 19 times a year for the next 13 years.
----Knowing Correa's injury history, more like 3 times a year for the next 5 years.

Yes, deferred contracts are worse for the player ( time value ), but better for the team and the agent ( assuming they get their whole cut upfront).

Bonilla would have been much better off getting only 50% of that money, but all up front or even in the first few years.
