Hakeem, because I grew up in Houston in the 90s so I am biased.

ETA: Hakeem was also better.

My bias is too thick to say anything other than Hakeem

Hakeems defensive numbers are just stupid. Guy was such a monster.

Hakeem 1238 games

Tim 1392 games

Hakeem might be the most underrated player in basket history. He was so good in college and great in the NBA.

Off topic but true story here. When I was living in Houston, I randomly played with Olajuwon’s neighbor of all people. We chatted a bit and he said Hakeem got real pussy whipped once he got married.

I don't know if he is underrated so much as under appreciated.

Michael Jordan puts him on his all time starting 5 so if the GOAT says you GOAT, you GOAT

What he did to Ewing in the finals was brutal.

Hakeem was a more dynamic, exciting, and probably better at his peak, player.

It's hard to argue against Duncan's consistency and longevity though, especially considering how successful his teams were.

People forget that Hakeem went off against the Lakers in the conference finals when they were defending champs to get to the Finals, the one the Rockets lost against the Celtics.

He was as athletic as any guy his size in NBA history and you could totally see how he was a soccer goalkeeper growing up with the way he was able to move.

Careers taken in their totality, Duncan had a better run

Hakeem was the better player at their respective peaks though. What he did to Robinson and Rodman in the ‘95 WCF remains the greatest thrashing of elite defenders in league history. Dude averaged 35/13/5/4 over a six game series.

Easy Hakeem. My reasoning is he was a better player in every aspect. Duncan’s longevity doesn’t make him better.
