I keep forgetting that Zach is the trash-man for philosophers and kings.

Zach's good people. He just likes to rouse the rabble.

Eh, I've only discussed soccer with him, and for that reason I think he has Asperger's.

Can you read? I asked who in this thread has ever said something of that nature?
Can you read? What a retarded post to respond that I read of soccer's coming dominance in the 60s.
Do you think this board existed in the 60s?
Do you think the internet existed in the 60s?
Are you a total fool or is it just part time for you?

clearly you haven't b/c you're the same person who thinks a football team would rather a FG than a TD
If a FB team always wants a TD why don't they do an on-sides kick every time? Hmmm? An on-sides kick offers the opportunity to get the ball and score a TD. Kicking off is just stupid by your logic.

Here's a graph I made
Ooooh, it's a very nice graph. And I notice that the scoreless games approach 10%.
In FB the scoreless games are ZERO.
And in the WC the scoreless team/games are 30%.
You lose again. But keep trying. I'm having fun in between rounds of the US Open.

Link? Someone might have said this with the coming of NASL, but for some reason you take their word as the word of every single soccer fan, which is just plain retarded.
Also this is what you said.

50s. 60s 70s 80s 90s ...Don't act stupid unless you are.
Now it's only the 60's? Could you please provide links for the rest of the decades you mentioned?

Better to be a fool than a trashman.

Between 5-10%. The better leagues average around 6.5%

No they aren't. You just made that number up.
Obviously you're a liar.

Last six major international tournaments. God you're such a liar.

You want me to provide a link from newspaper articles I read over half a century ago?
OK. I'll work on that.
I'll do it tomorrow. I just put it down on my 'to do' list.

But you also said in the 70s, 80s, and 90s? Surely you can provide a link from the 90's if it is so prevalent. But I guess you made it up like liars usually do.

Could I provide a link that says "soccer will be the most popular in the US by 2000" from a 90s link?
Sure. But it would be boring. Like soccer.
If you had any idea what critical thinking is you'd answer the essential question:
"Will soccer ever be popular in the US?"
The answer is "No."
Second question: "Why not?"
Answer: "Because it's a sport for very simple people and the US is Hegemonic."
Gotta sign off for today. Will beat your arse tomorrow when I have time. Good night.

It's a simple task, far too much for a trashman like you.

Nah, you'll probably make up numbers and then ignore me when you're called out on it. I usually take it easy on people with Asperger's, but I might make an exception for you.

I've already answered this question. I've said it won't be a popular sport, but a niche sport. You're just a moron who can't read.

The reason soccer is not as popular in this country has more to do with the people watching it than it does with the game itself. We live in a NOW!!!!! society with "instant" everything. We have so many things vying for our attention, and so much to keep us occupied. We process shite tons of information every day, and it's all broken up into tiny little soundbites and tidbits. We voraciously consume any kind of input. I'm thinking of Jonny 5 right now when he gets loose in Short Circuit.
We want to be entertained with immediacy or we just turn to something else. People want non stop action and if they can't have that it's deemed boring. The game of soccer much like life isn't so much about scoring goals as it is the build up to those goals. We place too much emphases on being somewhere and forget that the important part is getting there.
