Well, maybe I was trying to help Vegas pull in this sucker. Maybe me and Vegas are buddies.

LeBron could never win the title and he will be a top 20 player of all time. Sergio isn't even a top 20 current player.

i dont know how close lebron has come seeing as how he has never played in a game where he could even have a shot to win the championship. sergio had a shot at a couple majors and caught some bad breaks. golf and basketball are so different they arent comparable at all. But by your logic i guess the Buffalo Bills were the LeBron James of the NFL in the early 90's. i mean if you only thing is they "both got close" then you could compare him to a million things

Ok, admittedly, comparing a golfer to an NBA player is rather ridiculous because the sports are as dissimilar as you can get. But the facts are this - both Sergio and Lebron entered their respective professional sports at a very young age with a TON of hype and a TON of potential. And while both at times have shown flashes of turning their amazing god given talent and potential into great success, neither has been able to win the big one. Lame comparison? Maybe. But I think Lebron and Sergio might be more similar than you realize, and it's the same intangibles (or lack thereof in this case) that results in neither of them winning the big one. Just my opinion.

Sergio did not ENTER golf with a lot of hype....he EARNED it after dueling Tiger at the PGA....LeBron had it in middle school

Um, yes he did. At 18 or younger his swing was compared to Ben Hogan's. He's been said to have the best golf swing in all of golf since he was a kid. Best ball striker, etc etc. Dude has always had hype.

Tha frick?

Sergio had a huge amateur career overseas. He won the British amateur and even won a Euro challenge pga tour event as an am. He was a HUGE deal coming out of amateur golf. The PGA at Medinah just made him that much bigger.

Might as well compare Leborn to Kobe, Tom Brady, Jimmie Johnson, Derek Jeter, Roger Federer, Serena Williams then, i mean the only difference is that those people have a bunch of rings and titles.
