I read the entire article, this is just some random hack columnist trying to stir the pot and write something that has "racism" in the title so that it can generate more hits and controversy.
She's neither crying nor directly claiming racism. She's merely stating facts; which has led the media to imply there may be a racist or sexist streak running through the tournament makers at Wimbledon. Given the fact that this tournament still holds fast to stodgy traditions such as a requirement to wear white garments and excessive complaints about the noises the players (particularly female) make during the game; they could be on to something.

Who gives a shite what she thinks. It's Wimbledon's club, they can have whatever rules they want. If Serena doesn't like it, don't play the fricking tourney.

Maybe if you were HIGHER seeds you would be on the better Courts.
They've won 9 Wimbledons between the two of them. They deserve to play on either Centre Court or Court 1.

Last year Serena, who was the #1 seed, played unseeded Michelle Larcher de Brito on Centre Court in the 1st round.
In fact the only match she did not play on Centre Court was her 2nd round match.
Both Nadal and Federer had matches on courts other than Centre Court last year. Hell, Nadal's quarterfinals match against Soderling wasn't even on Centre Court
So I don't get the race card here

It is because neither sister can pass a drug test, and Wimbledon doesnt want that stain on their precious Centre Court

This means NOTHING. Play more and get a higher seed and you will play on the BETTER COURTS. Venus thinks she is the Tiger Woods of Tennis by playing Majors only. She gets what she deserves.

Especially coming from you, whose arguments usually don't stem very far from "titles are the only thing that matters."
She has won the tournament four times. Give her the respect she's due.

Just ecause they've spoken out against drug testing doesn't mean they failed one.

how many times has federer won this tournament? how many times has he bitched about what court he plays on? think he gives a shite? he would play in the parking lot if they told him to, he just wants to win.
people that bitch for the sake of bitching don't deserve the kind of respect they demand.

You're insanely naive if you think Federer wouldn't say something if they moved him outside of Court 1.
This is the guy who had a Wimbledon blazer made and shoes with stars (I think) to show how many times he had won the event.
He also wore a designer cardigan with the number 15 on the back after he won he 15th major.

And for what it's worth, he's played on Centre Court each match thus far.

Black people are racist = Telling Noah about a flood.

I think Serena has a point and did a good job of passive-aggressively making it.
It doesn't have to be alleged racism on her part - sexism is equally likely and just as damning.
BTW the hate for the Williams sisters on this thread is startling. They're the only American tennis stars we have and they represent us very well.

Perhaps one day she will realize that threatening to shove her tennis racket up the arse of a line judge in a major tourney (U.S. Open) has some long-lingering backlash associated with it. Laying out for the better part of a year does, as well.

BOOM
I was wondering, finally on page 2 we get a few facts thrown around lol.
If this holds true, Serena has zero argument IMO.
