Non-SEC but interesting....53% of BYU's players are from Utah...
Was wondering how they remained relevant now that their stranglehold on the Islands is long over.
Well Utah, continues to be more NFL draft fertile ground than their neighboring brethren...
Utah - 4
Nevada - 3
Oregon - 2
Washington - 2
Idaho - 1
Montana - 1

But the number of colleges has nothing to do with it
these are high school players that then went on to college wherever
whether they're home state or other states and then were drafted
Might have played in the b10

Problem for states like Louisiana and Mississippi in particular are the fact that this years batch of kids who were birn around the time Katrina and Rita hit both states and caused massive emigration of certain subpopulations is a major factor.
It shouldn’t matter really as many players drafted won’t make teams while some undrafted free agents will. I would say Day 1/Day 2 picks are the ones to look at and I don’t think it changes the numbers relative to one another but those are where it will matter.

Big Ten country booming with at least 9 from California, Maryland, Ohio and Illinois.

Damn. Iowa (Lilly white) outperformed Louisiana, South Carolina, Mississippi. No wonder the SEC has fallen off.
How in the hell are there only 5 out of Michigan?
