You dont know that, and they have earned it more than Bama.

People thought that Boise State couldnt compete with the big boys, and they proved everyone wrong by taking down Oklahoma in glorious fashion.

They won all their games - they at least deserve a shot, and its better for college football for a Cinderella to get in every now and then. People love to pull for the underdog, and when they win it makes for a great story.

College football is throwing in the same 4-6 teams every year, and though most earn it - some dont and in this case UCF deserves a shot.

Funny enough, I was listening to Les Miles' podcast from earlier this week. He was pretty lukewarm on most of his takes regarding who should make the CFB Playoff except for one thing. He was emphatic in saying UCF belongs nowhere near the CFB Playoff conversation. The quality of teams they play every week is not comparable to what OU and Clemson and other Power 5 teams have to deal with week in and week out.

My only question, who are the best 4 teams? That is the goal of any system that produces a national championship.

How do we know for sure?? Even if you feel that Bama is the 4th spot, its based on what - your feelings? the ambiguous eye test?

We wouldnt know if the committee got it right unless BAMA won it all, but then we still dont know - what if UCF or USC got in and they won it all.

What I do know is that if the regular season means something, and conference championships matter, then UCF and USC deserve a shot well before BAMA.

I appreciate that, and respect the hell out of Miles. While that may be true, if Bama makes it in - the entire sport is sullied. The regular season does not matter, nor do conference championships. Why have an SEC champion, if you can lose your division and then go on to win the college play off?

Does anyone else not think it makes no sense to have LSU as the SEC champions in 2011, Bama be a division runner-up but be the national championship team????

That does not compute. Hey, you are the best team in all the land, except your conference. You arent good enough to be your division winner, but you are good enough to be reigning National Champion. Its a fuching joke

Accusing others of having to resort to name calling.

Led off with calling everyone a fig.

Not the smartest chap, are you?

Conference championships are not weighted heavily by the committee (nor should they be). They have shown this two years in a row now.

UGA and Alabama were the exact same team with the exact same loss. But UGA gets a rematch because they were in the East. Otherwise Bama gets the rematch and a chance to redeem.

Eliminating a team simply because of geography is not objective in the least.

Let's face it, with the way you're posting, it's clear you don't have a clue what you're talking about and are just throwing a bitch fit because you hate Alabama.

It's pathetic honestly.

I hate Bama, but that is not where my argument stems from. They did not even win their own division - they only had one good/decent win - they lost to their only true difficult game - they arent even the champion of their own state.

How's that geography lesson for you? You cant call yourself champion of your own state, you shouldnt have an opportunity to be champion of the nation...

People who say honestly, use it as a qualifier because they are usually full of shite and feel the need to denote that they are actually being honest for once.

You are truly pathetic

The true argument is that BAMA's political connections and money become more important than the entire regular season, and the conference championship.

I'm willing to bet that OSU has just as much, if not more, money and political connections and it didnt help. UCF and USC were never getting in. It came down to OSU and Bama and the Iowa loss killed them.
I wouldn't have been that angry if OSU got in. They had a great season and I am on record saying they would get in over us

I watched Auburn beat Alabama 8 days ago. The Gumps were the second best team on the field that day.

The "number of losses" argument for Bama over USC, OSU and Auburn is nullified by UCF.

The "eye test" is nullified by losing to Auburn last week.

Bama got in for reasons other than "earning" a spot or being one of the best four teams.
