I usually don't care much for hearing about any other teams expansions or facilities (usually because there really is no input for a non-fan of the team) But I was actually glad to hear about UW finally doing something about their football stadium, I believe the vid is still up on youtube that was some report on how the stadium was literally falling apart to the point where it sounded dangerous.
With So.Cal on probation, expansion coming soon to the PAC-10, now was the time for Washington to get the ball rolling on this thing to assure they don't fall irreparably behind.

The lower bowl that is going to be rebuilt is still original from the early 1900s. There were stairs collapsing, tiny wooden bleachers that were just repainted over and over, and the area above the tunnel was sagging. It was really bad. I believe that the cameras will still shake though on TV when it gets really loud in there because they aren't touching the upper decks. The unique design of the upper decks combined with where they stick the cameramen causes that, which I think looks pretty cool.
This was desperately needed for Washington to get back to where they were as of a decade ago. Perfect timing.

Ohio States baseball stadium, despite its decent size, would still only be 5th or 6th best in the SEC.
Oh well, whatever.

Well, yeah, that too

It will be good timing in that sense. You will have a good team in 2012.

Not hating on UGA, as those are some nice facilities.
But Butts-Mehre has to be one of the most unfortunately named facilities in the country.
And your baseball stadium looks bigger than when I saw it last (years ago). What's the capacity up to now? I had heard it was the smallest stadium in the SEC these days.

BF87, you forgot to mention OSU Scarlet golf course, which was redesigned by Jack Nicklaus and hosts a Nationwide tour event every year.

LSU has great football, baseball and softball facilities. The PMAC is decent at best, but the new practice facility should be pretty nice. The track facilities suck, natatorium is a piece of crap, soccer facility is portable bleachers. We are the only SEC school without an indoor tennis center. LSU is a long ways off from having first rate facilities across the board.

Texas and Ohio State are definitely up there. Arkansas is up there too.

I agree with this. However, Tiger Stadium could use some upgrading. It's badly needed.

Track is in the midst of a reno. It's going to be as good as anyone's when done.

Virtually no one has "first rate facilities across the board". Overall, LSU is right up there with the best. For every facility that's not at the top, we also have one that is at the very top.
Alex Box Stadium and Tiger park, for example. The Cox Communications building was voted best of it's kind when built.

No one would disagree with that. And plans are in the works. Go buy a $2,000 window and stop complaining.

They are redoing the track. The stadium itself is a dump and the indoor facility is an absolute joke.

I'm sure Ramsey is great, but The Cox Communication Center was voted #1 in the country when it came out. I'm sure it's still up there. It's something most recruits talk about when they come to LSU.

what is that? academic center for student athletes? that's not what ramsey is
ramsey is the student rec center. SI called it the best "college fitness facility" in the nation. that was a few years ago so presumably someone has built something better by now.
