The imaginary pass interference call stands. The completed pass is incomplete because the WR stepped out, which means a penalty, which cancels out the imaginary pass interference.
But the unsportsmanlike penalty regarding the imaginary pass interference (which is now negated) remains.

I guess they're saying that the PI occurred after the receiver stepped OOB and, thus, the receiver was no longer eligible and could not be the victim of PI.
