I wouldn't think KU would sacrifice anything basketball-related for the football team.

I thought that Les was a great hire for KU. I really thought he would at least make them respectable. He still has a shot I guess, but this is a bad start.

Ehh, to be fair, they haven't won more than 3 games since Mangino's last year in 2009 when they went 5-7. His 3-9 record leading them last year was actually pretty good for them considering.

Because they don’t have the budget. It’s Basketball that keeps almost all adidas money. So money needed for things they dip into stuff that affects play.

Beatty pissed the Jayhawks Conference coaches off by not getting kids only using TX kids

Yeah I was thinking he could maybe get them to 5-6 wins and maybe a bowl

He might. I wouldn't expect a bowl for at least another 2 seasons. He doesn't have a full team of his own players yet and it's not like he was exactly left with a wealth of talent.

KU needed to play someone like a Ball or San Jose tonight to open their year. Coastal should be game 2

Those two weren't available, unfortunately. Any NAIA teams playing? KU could've scheduled them for Game 1.

How the fuk are Pac 10 schools still ranked? Will Oregon just stay at #9 all year even though they never even play??

What a joke. CFB rankings are an embarrassment.

BTW, I love how the big 10 is now "looking good" to play. That only because those idiots got totally embarrassed by the high school and small colleges able to play and they looked like morons.

They don’t quit I’ll give them that. You have to build on something and that’s a good quality to begin with. Really hoping Les can pull this off. No ill will, his time was just up at LSU

Its gonna take a few recruiting classes at least with maybe some luck on the trail. Simply don't have the athletes for that right now unfortunately

No that was an “honorary” poll. The teams that haven’t played will drop

They may move up after some Big 12 teams fall.
