Hang back and participate in case mizzou attempted a return.

It was a live ball when she went to the sideline.

per Wiki...

Hnida left Colorado in 2001 and eventually transferred to the University of New Mexico the following year. There she made the New Mexico Lobos football team as a walk-on placekicker.[8] While at New Mexico, she became the first woman to play in a Division I-A bowl game when she played in the 2002 Las Vegas Bowl against UCLA, where her extra point attempt was blocked.[9] On August 30, 2003, she became the first woman to score in a Division I-A game when she kicked two extra points against Texas State University in the fourth quarter of a 72–8 New Mexico win. [1] She graduated in December 2004.

Lobos had no mercy that day...even bringing in a girl to score vs Texas State!

They didn’t have a better option?

There are 100s of guys in campus that can kick the ball a lot further than she can, and you don’t have to tell them to haul arse off the field . Our fricking poster Lnchbox looks like legatron compared to her

And if you are satisfied with the other team getting the ball on the 35, just tell them to aim out of bounds....

I'm really not getting the knighting here. Anyone that has the slightest clue of what they were watching in all the kicks they showed pregame knows exactly what she is capable of.

I agree with you

I think where we are in American culture, where we wheel people out there to deliver subpar performances and herald them as historical, is both sad and hilarious with how stupid it all is.

I enjoy that it makes people upset and reddit has to lock threads

This is pathetic...Vanderbilt is without a doubt the worst P5 team there is, having a female FG kicker just puts the exclamation point on that.

Idk, I don't really like Vandy putting her out there for their first kickoff of the game. Making a spectacle of it and announcing her name as you're in the process of getting your shite kicked in by Missouri.

Probably made her feel uncomfortable. She's a competitive athlete, after all.

Just my two cents. I do think it's cool and I am happy for HER. Don't give a shite about all the EqAuLiTy nerds.

They can deliver terrible kickoffs with the best of them

I’m not sure how we end this woke nonsense but it is hard seeing it ending well in the larger landscape of where it takes our country

If you go Instagram and onto “Sportscenter” page...they posted the clip of her kicking....the comments aren’t going the way I think they thought it would go. 100-1 negative comments. This is exactly the political shite people are tired of in sports. ESPN just can’t help themselves. They think they’re on the right side of history....and they aren’t. Now this girl is going to be mocked and made fun of. Talk about your alltime backfire.

Lol what a stunt by mason. Trying to distract from one of the worst sec teams ever with a lady kicker.

If they want to start getting lit up by Dylan Moses or Jacoby Stevens on a weekly basis then sure why not?

Will never happen in our lifetimes though

Doubtful since it drew 100x more attention than a Vandy/Missouri blowout would normally get
