shite is about to get real. He's about to bend them over and frick them up the arse w/a splintered broomstick. And it needs to happen and UT made an example of. That was unacceptable behavior last night.

If we still had Alleva we would somehow lose a home game over this.

I'm not a big fan of Thamel, but he made me laugh this morning.

quote:

As the dozens and dozens of items flew down onto the field — everything from water bottles to a mustard bottle to a yellow golf ball — Tennessee’s reputation as having the worst fan base in college football grew incrementally. As each item crashed to the turf, another piece of empirical evidence was added to a rich history of collective classlessness.

As the minutes ticked by and the hailstorm continued, Tennessee fans exhibited a level of fan misbehavior that we haven’t seen in college football this generation. We’ve never seen a recent scene in college football so unsafe that cheerleaders, the dance team and band had to leave their home field for protection, some shielding their heads with placards designed to cheer on the team.

A fan base with a vocal element that has always traded in the sewer of the sport somehow found a lower level. On a night when Tennessee football eventually lost to Ole Miss, its fans also found new depths.

In the wake of Ole Miss outlasting Tennessee in Lake Kiffin’s supercharged return to Neyland Stadium, the spectacle of a 20-minute delay from debris being thrown onto the field overshadowed a fantastic game. And it brought the focus of the sport to Tennessee’s fan base, whose last public riot resulted in VolTwitter choosing the most incompetent coach and athletic director pairing in the SEC this generation.

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought Ole Miss antics of the fake injuries was worse and trashier than the UT fans

Voting happened at the end of the regular season.

Right. These sanctimonius idiots acting like it's the end of the world when fans throw things are ridiculous. It happens. I have no problem with punishing them to make a statement. But, it's not like they rushed the field and started beating up people.

It’s a regular season award. Austin Riley is really good. Based on the numbers, he’s not going to, nor should he win MVP.

But, I’d rather have him not win MVP and play well in the playoffs.

Don't expect this to just be a monetary fine.

It's not a matter of it being the end of the world or not. But they can't have that become a thing, so I think they come down pretty heavy on them.

Just you and Tennessee fans. Everyone fakes injuries. Not everyone throws trash at everyone on their field like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

I have never once seen a team do what ole miss did last night. They faked an injury every single time tenn got a first down in the 4th qtr

It was far more a slap in the face to “the sanctity of college football” than the UT fans
