re: SA Spurs 2014 NBA Finals Thread (vs. MIA 0-0) [Game 1 Thu. @ 2000 CST]

Very simple as it all starts in the paint. Perimeter opens up when you are scoring 60 points in the paint. Until the Spurs can get something going in the paint, their perimeter shooters will suffer. If they figure out how to draw defenders in, somebody might be able to get going.

Ibaka has certainly made an impact on the Spurs offense but SA has been atrocious on the other end of the court these last two games.
The thing is, those two things are related.

I am expecting game 5 to be a game that goes down to the wire...first time all series.

Yeah, but Westbrook looks tough doing it.
Splitter looks like a baby-back bitch in that video.

Heartily disagree. He looks like a marionette that got its strings cut

I think SA regroups and wins game 5. I expect a further adjustment from pop vs westbrook. Hes the one they have to contain regardless of what KD does (and im a huge KD guy)
Feel like neither team will win a road game so i like SA in 7.

So was there anything to the Pop/Duncan argument last game? Or was it just two frustrated guys letting emotions take over?

The latter. shite happens.
Duncan didn't roll to the basket hard/soon enough and precipitated yet another Green turnover that led to a fast break dunk. Timmy deserved to get yelled at for fricking up that play, but Pop yells at Tim just as quickly as he screams at anyone else.

Winner of this game tonight wins series IMO.
Fascinating watching line movement on Vegas Insider. Most sports books had Spurs as a -4 to -5 point favorite. And money is coming in all over the place.
Obviously just because someone bets on the Thunder at +4 or +5 it doesn't mean they think OKC will win. But it's interesting that betting trends appear to be all even on both sides.
I personally just want to see a close game. Albeit this won't be good for my heart health.

I'd rather go back to the game 1-2 style Spurs blowouts if it's all the same to you

It would be wild to see another Spurs blow out.
That would mean we would have seen a blow out by the home team every game this series.
I personally think Ibaka will continue to make a difference in the paint as he has already. We'll see if it's enough to lead another Thunder W.
