Yeah, the closest thing I can find to this is CBS Sports' article saying Lakers have informed Gasol he'll be traded if his performance doesn't improve.

Story here.

Pau Gasol has not been traded for Josh Smith. Bad rumor. Terrible source. Trolling from a blogspot.

Ok so I don't really follow the NBA, but at least try to somewhat keep tabs on the hawks just bc they're the home team. Can y'all tell me why this is such a bad trade? I know smith is obviously really good, but pau was awesome for like 5 years in a row right? Why is this so bad for atl?

Excuse my ignorance I really don't follow much NBA.

Eta: assuming the trade happened, which apparently it didn't. But fill me in anyway please.

Smith is way younger and Gasol is on the decline. It would be a lateral move at best and would only get worse every year. No GM would be this stupid unless the Lakers threw in another good piece.

It would favor the Lakers by quite a bit. Smith is a very good fit with a coach like D'antoni.

As for the Hawks, they would be getting older and slower, something that does not help them at all right now.

Oh lawd

I have Smith and Horford on two fantasy teams. I'd say this hurts both their values

Hmm, I sort of doubt the validity of this. I think it would be wise of the Lakers to wait til Nash returns to see how Pau gels with the offense, but I do think his trade is inevitable. There's too much baggage from his consecutive disappearing acts in the playoffs to overcome the funk he's in now.

The Hawks would be idiots. Any team willing to deal with the Lakers needs to fire its GM, as they're certain to get the short end of the stick

Great trade for both teams if true.
