My wife says that when she was in England for the summer, that the guys at the rugby pub use to watch old matches that they'd seen a hundred times but yet they'd still 'fight' before during and after the game

But no... I don't have direct

Australia is very regional too in which sports are most popular. Queensland is more union, New South Wales is Rugby League, and Melbourne/Victoria is Aussie Rules. But overall, AFL is the most attended.

Yeah I'm noticing that. Plus isn't A-League gaining in popularity there too? They certainly have a lot of footy codes there.

I remember a guy ready to fight me when I was in the Gold Coast because I said I liked union better than league.

Damn.

I'd love to to Australia one day.

I like both League and Union...

I personally think the NRL is the best Rugby Competition in the world...week in, week out, very similar to the US sports seasons. 26 weeks, then playoffs, etc..

But, when it comes to my money, the Six Nations is still the best experience as far as I am concerned. (even when Ireland sucks )

But I follow most leagues, from Rabo (Celts,Italians) to Aviva (English) to Super Rugby (go the Sharks ) to even the French leagues which is probably the most fun Northern Hemisphere week in week out league, etc...

as for this weekend...

Pool A: South Africa, Wales, Argentina, Australia.
Pool B: New Zealand, USA, France, Kenya.
Pool C: Samoa, Scotland, Portugal, England.
Pool D: Canada, Fiji, Spain, Hong Kong

and yes, Kenya is pretty damn good at 7s...but let's go USA

Watched a bunch of nrl when I was over there as well. Their broadcasts on Sundays in HD rivals the best the NFL puts out. It was great.

Yeah same here. I like both and for League I follow the NRL I don't really keep up with Super League in the UK.

Best crowds are in the Northern Hemisphere in both club and international ball. That's the big difference in experience that I notice. But the quality of play is better in the Southern Hemisphere.

Some of there broadcasts are very similar to NFL broadcasts, I'm talking specifically of the ones broadcasts by Fox Sports.

But yeah the NRL puts out a quality product. I can't wait for the State of Origin series to start.

Yeah I follow all the Heineken Cup competing leagues too. And I agree the Top 14 is the best in the Northern Hemi. I wish ESPN3 would start showing Top 14 matches again.

First rugby match I ever saw was Toulouse vs Leinster Heineken Cup Semi from 2011.

Rugby UNION, not that league shite.

Oh, of course. I'm aware of the difference. I really don't know how I made the error.

Rugby Union is rarely on TV here in the USA. I have never seen a Rugby League game on TV here.

I have Cable TV.

Yeah it was great to see BBCAmerica broadcasting games. NBC Sports Network has been showing Sevens a lot lately.

Cox doesn't seem to offer Fox Soccer Plus though.
