Younger brother played for him at Shreve and won State with Austin Ross on the mound for Shreve. Would have gone back to back until they ran into Von Rosenberg in the final the next year. On a side note, it's pretty amazing Von Rosenberg was 4-0 in state title games in high school at 2 different schools. Pro ball doesn't work out, so he comes back to punt on the greatest college football team of all time. And wins a natty.

I played against him when he was the coach at Parkway in the mid to late 90s. My senior year, 1997, we went 0-4 against him. ? They were stacked.

His '97 team was state runner up to John Curtis. IIRC it was a flyball in B7 that 2 outfielders collided to allow 2 runs to score on a walkoff. That team, full of Juniors that went on to play college ball, won it all in '98.

I was at Parkway when they won state. Everyone knows back in the day we didn't win shite at anything our football team didn't win but like 1 game until my senior year. Parkway winning the state title was unbelievable and we rushed the diamond like it was a football game.

Everyone's favorite teacher was Coach Coker. Bumped into him a few years ago when he was trying to get the soccer tournament stuff up and running and he remembered me from 20 years ago. Was genuinely happy to see me. RIP

Natchitoches Central was worse...

We won on a controversial call at home, tried to leave as soon as possible because they were attacking our bus.

I love hearing stories like that.

Dad told me a story about one time they were playing BTW at BTW in football. It was a tight game and he had the game sealing interception. He said when they were leaving the stadium someone threw a brick through their bus window.

He was the AD at Airline when my oldest graduated from there in ‘11 and my youngest “dated” his oldest son Peyton when they were in middle school.

The man left a huge impact on so many over the years and will definitely be missed.

This video was from about a year ago, but worth the watch.

“Win The Day”

RIP Ronnie
