was that really all that was holding up the PG trade? Because a 26yo prime PG was WAYYYYYYYYYYY more valuable

Yes. Magic was so arrogant that PG would sign without having to make the trade

It was a weird situation. Yea Lakers could have traded for PG, but PG's camp basically said that it wasn't needed because he was coming regardless. So Lakers keep their players, PG plays in OKC for a year, and then signs a long term deal with them after a change of heart.

Basically, PG played the Lakers and says some stuff like he felt more valued in OKC because they traded for him. Just another shite show under Jeanie.

Which would be who? The Warriors GM they supposedly reached out to?

Who knows. People are speculating that it could be a Pistons exec (Arn Tellem - vice chairman) because of close ties to Pelinka. Makes sense because there's way better options to look at but Jeannie would probably make the hire.

Also, take it with a grain of salt because from what I can tell the rumor started with Cowherd's 'sources'...

I never thought that I would see the day when the Lakers are flat out toxic for prospective GMs, coaches AND players.

I had to go look at her Twitter for myself because I thought to myself there was no way that was real. But lo and behold it is.

Jeannie appears be one of those chicks who has been passed around. Her Twitter pic reeks of insecurity issues.

I give Lakers fans all the props in the world for not jumping off bridges if they hire Monty freaking Williams.

Doesn't really matter when LeChoke will be acting as player, head coach and GM.

Wasn't that back when PG was with the Pacers and everyone around the league was told he only wanted to play for LA and would only sign long term with them? Before Bron?

Do I dare say it? Cokehead Jim was a better owner than Jeanie.

since some with the Lakers fear a Lue-LeBron pairing would cede the superstar too much control.

In all seriousness:

Owner - Jeanie Buss
POBO -
GM - Pelinka
Co-GM - Lebron
Assistant GM - Rich Paul
Coach - Monty Williams

There’s no talented front office exec alive that would take that POBO job and put their reputation on the line.
