He was completing 58-60% of his passes when everyone else was at 51%

Bart Starr Top 6 QB Topic

People give you so much shite in that thread, but I love that type of thread. Interesting debates...

Geez, that video was rough to watch. The man looked like he had dementia and had no idea of his surroundings.

He did. His wife said several times that he didn't remember even playing football, much less achieve what he did in his playing days.

Those old guys took a serious pounding back then.

Great Quarterback in his time and I am glad I got to see many of the games he played in. Even if it was on an old black and white 23 inch screen. The Packers were magic back in the day.

It's a solid argument.

Brett Favre was better and that’s just the Packers

Here we go with the recency bias and an inability to recognize rule changes that are going to make almost every good QB going forward seem better than those in the past based on a watered down ability to defend the pass.

You are talking about Favre though, who is legitimately one of the best ever (taking all eras into consideration). Starr’s obviously in that group too. It’s not like he said Flacco or Dalton or Eli were better

Hence, it's a good argument. The answer doesn't seem clear to me.

And yet you mocked the person saying Brett Favre is better than Bart Starr.
