Everyone claims that John Elway was the highest rated QB to ever come out of college in recent memory, but he (Elway) is not in the Top 5 NFL QBs in the last 30 years.

Jason Whitlock has Elway #1.

So...that's one guy.

The "he wouldn't last in the SEC" crap is the dumbest argument out there. Using the same logic in this thread, most of the elite QB's in the NFL would not last against SEC defenses...since most of them come from outside the SEC. fricking tards

This is such bullshite. SEC defenses, such as Vanderbilt's, Tennessee's or Kentucky's, would absolutely destroy little Lucky-poo. He would have no chance against the juggernaut that is Mississippi State, or the gargantuan Gators from Gainesville. The Georgia offense played both ways the day Kellen Moore shredded them, so the Dawgs REAL defense would rip Luck to pieces. Ha!
And Ole Miss! The Rebels stalwart sentinels of the redzone would tapdance on his tonsils while Huston Nutt teabagged him. Poor Luckypoo!
Luck is lucky he's not in the SEC!

You mean the guy who's #84 in passing yards per game?

No-one is saying he wouldn't succeed or be by far the best QB in the SEC.

But does anyone also think the PAC-12 plays better defense than the SEC?

Outside of Bama and LSU, no defense in the SEC is that special. Are the "better" than most Pac 12 teams. Yes, but what most of you don't get its at the margin. The difference is not as great as most want to believe. The affect on his stats would be neglible. Geon Smith threw for 400 yds on LSU, that does not mean he throw for 900 on a Pac 12 D, and LSU has a great D.
