Baloo, you're one of the most respected and intelligent posters on MSB (I realize that may be damning with faint praise). That's why I'm surprised your take on this is so bad...

If this was the WV student newspaper doodling on a pic of Coach K or Butler-MSU winner on Monday before the title game vs Duke, I have no problem. Those fishwraps are supposed and expected to be biased. Hell, if Butler were playing Duke on Monday, I could even understand it.

But inserting their editorializing on the front page of the sports section is, um, juvenile. But this is what sports journalism has come to in 2010 and why the most respected writers come from intertube blogs such as marchtomadness.com or basketballprospectus.com. It is what it is, I guess.

It's not their editorializing. It is a comedic way to demonstrate people's hate of Duke. not even their hate of Duke. Anyone who thinks the paper or editorial staff hates Duke based on the photo is either A) looking to be insulted or B) too stupid to breathe.

And OF COURSE front pages editorialize. Every decsion to put things on the front page and to stress certain facts is editorializing.

I haven't read the article, but even if it is an article by a columnist saying "I hate Duke", that's incredibly in-bounds for a column with jokey cover art. Or it's a serious look at people's hatred of Duke, and then... what's the problem?

No one hates Duke more than I do, but really? Getting sore about this says more about Duke fans than the column or photo.

I don't think this article is necessarily one of the examples, but come on man. These are just articles that have come out this week in legitimate newspapers.

If Duke is down at the half, I hope you join me in posting some rally Omar Samhans in honor of S. They have proven not to do much for LSU basketball, but they have to be worth something
