It took me a minute to see what you were talking about. I was like isn't that a Japanese guy... oh wait... she just popped an O RLY face... YES!

WMB not coming around has very much effected this team, and combine that with JBJ not really hitting and the rotation being a mess, not to mention the failure of the Sizemore experiment, and you have this season.

WMB offensively is more disappointing than his def. I really think they thought he was gonna be a .280/20+hr guy and he isn't. At least he can't stay on the field a whole year to actually see if he can be. They have been pushing JBJ as the next coming and defensively he is but just not at the plate. Hopefully he can turn it around and become more consistent at the plate but as of now he strikes out way too much and just hasn't shown he can hit mlb pitching. Mookie has been getting reps in Center Field recently which goes to show how good he is.

The last two years have been glorified bridge years, notice they aren't exactly picking up long term contracts. There is a ton of young talent in that farm system. Ceccini looks like the second coming of Wade Boggs and a young Youk, Mookie has been tearing the cover off the ball, we have two extremely talented catcher prospects, among a very strong core of pitchers (albeit no true #1 rotation arms).

Really excited to see Ceccini in the system w/Bogartes at shortstop for years to come. Now what to do with Betts...I'm hoping to see him soon as well wherever they want to put him. Snyder may be the 1st baseman in waiting esp if his average picks up. The pitching staff is full of 2-4 rotation guys hopefully Owens can turn into a 1 in the future.

This year seems to be the year where we just can't win close games or hit with runners in scoring position. We have gotten 0 from Victorino and Buchz. has been terrible since the DL stint last year. Lester needs to be resigned but not for more than 4-5 yrs just like Ellsbury. But if Lester goes then they need to make a splash in F.A. either a big bat b/c Papi will get old sooner rather than later and a plus starter would be nice. I wonder if it's time to ship Dubront out and see in Ranauldo or Webster can be more consistent. I didn't want to give up on Dubront so early but man he never gets to the 7th in any starts. It seems Peavy may be on the downward side earlier than they expected as well.

I can agree with all of this. I'm starting to become a tad worried JBJ is an AAAA hitter. That being said, we were spoiled with Ells. WMB is done as a Red Sox player, the Stephen Drew signing was the final nail in his coffin.

He's blocked at 2nd. Honestly, it'll be between him and JBJ at center, and the stronger arm will go to RF.

Buchz

The issue with him is he had to change his mechanics to pitch in the playoffs last year, which has seriously altered his healthy mechanics.

I'm done with needing to make splashes in free agency. If a top tier player hits FA, I don't mind making a go for it. TBH, I kind of wish they had gone after Brian McCann. He could have played catcher until Vasquez or Swihart was ready, and moved to first, and later to DH.

This is Dubronts make or break year IMO. His third full season in MLB and he needs to show improvement, which he hasn't this season thus far.

Agreed as well, but I'm talking younger player signings, not older player signings. I wouldn't mind seeing an outfield of Betts and JBJ only if Bradley's on base percentage is above .350 consistently but having to improve on being an above average AAA player which seems to be his place right now. Betts is blocked at 2nd so the outfield was the only natural spot. Cecccini plays 3rd next year, maybe plug another veteran catcher for a year and hopefully Swihart or Vasquez can separate from each other and trade the other or start the other playing some 1st base.

I haven't been as excited about a ss in a long time until Xander. I really hope he gets more than his share of ss when Drew comes back. Drew left a bad taste since this offseason actions with Boras. The farm system is in great shape and I like what we have done. To get back to the signing of a big name....I was thinking a Stanton type of player I guess who is still young. I'm a big fan of not signing these guys to more than 5 yrs, as much as i liked Ells i'm glad they didn't pay him even if it means struggling for a year.

Buch had a whole offseason to get his shite together I know what he did in the world series but Monday he was touching 93 but command was awful. He needs to be sent down for a month and work whatever phys and mental issues there. Let one of our young guys get exp. and we can go from there! Great talking the Sox with someone that has a good knowledge of them and their farm system!

Nothing like a 4 game home and home series with the Barves to stop a 10 game losing streak.

Price should have been gone after Carp.

First pitch of his first at bat Price throws at Ortiz. Umpires warn both teams. Price hits Carp bottom 4th but isn't ejected. Thats when Luvollo was ejected for arguing with the ump about Price not being ejected. Then Workman throws behind Longoria, doesn't hit him, and is ejected along with the automatic ejection of Butterfield.

This literally blew my mind. How you going to warn BOTH teams and then not eject Price when he hits Carp. Like WTF?
