yeah I'm pissed. again, the reporters went after goodell, and they're going to continue going after them until they say something of substance or cop to lying.

@ bisciotti

"it's in there"

I guess he didn't have time to memorize the story.

That's why it's on ESPN, being live blogged by sports sites, etc.

Call me naive...whatever.

But reading that statement from the Ravens, with each OTL point reviewed and basically called false by those they were attributed to, I'm more inclined to believe the Ravens then Bob Ley and his "unnamed sources close to the Ravens". For some reason I follow him on twitter, and his agenda has been pretty clear from the beginning. ESPN "journalism" has really been getting their arse handed to them by Yahoo, Deadspin, TMZ, etc... for several years now, and I would not put it past OTL to run this with unsubstantiated sources.

Other than this allegation, what was the last big story they broke (honestly asking)?

The use of anonymous sources, in the digital media age, has really jaded me on journalism in general.

I don't think it is naïve, they had 3 days to formulate a plausible response...and they have

it's plausible.

Now I'm interested to see how smart the guys at ESPN are. You don't burn a business partner like this unless you dotted your i's and crossed your t's

If they were smart, the first report is just slack, and the one proceeding this is the noose.

I'll definitely check back in

He may be telling the truth, he may not... Either way, the dude comes off as a slime ball.

Gonna be interesting how Ray's camp comes back now that he said that the article's sources were lies pushed by his camp for reinstatement.

yeah, but he's still 100x more natural than goodell and the local media is going to be waaaay nicer than the national media was to goodell.

I think it's possible ESPN could release an addendum to their story and they were waiting on firm denials before doing so.

Bisciotti offered nothing more than plausible deniability

Yeah and no though. That "I'm not i'm not uhhhh not that good" is gonna be a Diamond Joe Quimby-like soundbite.

The fact remains that the Ravens were given a description of what was on the tape from the beginning. If they had any reservations or ambiguity about its contents, they should have pushed harder to see it.

They got their chance to see it when Rice's attorney got a copy of it in April / May. They willfully declined to view the tape at that point.

They have admitted, IMO, that the 2nd tape (or at least the "terrible" nature of it) was given / communicated to them. That is willful ignorance.

But it was grainy and shaky according to Bisciotti

Dude coming off as more of a slime ball as things go on...

Being very condescending... "If I had thought to get the video, I could have gotten the video, If I had gotten the video, I could have shared it with the officer, etc..... "

so you're choosing to believe the owner with an agenda to cover his arse and has been shady throughout over the guy who wrote this article who has won multiple pulitzer prize awards?

I'm really torn right here. Here Bisciotti is throwing ray under the bus and kind of antagonizing ESPN...ESPN or Ravens/NFL, who is the most competent of incompetents

I'm tuning in

it is quite possible ESPN or Ray Rice is about to torch him.

The whole talking off camera "told you we should've released it sooner" makes him look like an uncomfortable liar

not to mention it is not in ESPN's interests to burn the league.

and they wouldn't have done so without being thorough

can't wait until tomorrow morning. By then, we should have ESPN's rebuttal (fingers crossed ESPN is playing chess)
