They’ll keep doing it. I enjoy the mega cast when it’s involving a team I don’t care about.

They also seemed to have higher profile guys in the past

Would LSU-Ohio State have cracked 30M?

I agree. Burrow brought way more national eyes to LSU games. Lot of NE people who don’t usually watch a ton of cfb. Combine that with OSU massive fan base and it would’ve been a rating juggernaut.

Love them or hate them, people like watching Alabama.

4 of the Top 10 highest rated games in 2018 involved Ohio State and some of the matchups weren't exactly gangbusters.

TCU, Northwestern, Penn State and Michigan.

And 3 of the Top 10 most watched games of 2019 involved Ohio State. (Ohio State/Wisky #3, Ohio State/Michigan #4; Ohio State/Penn State #6)

Ohio State brings the ratings.

If there was any conspiracy in the Semis it would've been in favor of Ohio State, people were tired of Clemson and Clemson doesn't move the dial like Ohio State does.

The ratings for Clemson-OSU dwarfed the other Semi between LSU and Oklahoma.

Barely got better ratings than last year's National Championship Game that nobody outside of Bama and Clemson fans were interested in. Clemson is a ratings black hole.

Clemson-LSU in the grand scheme of things was basically a regional game.

You gotta get some big name Midwest or West Coast team as an opponent to attract the rest of the nation.

Clemson-LSU in the grand scheme of things was basically a regional game played in the Deep South of all places to make it more regional.

You gotta get some big name Midwest or West Coast team as an opponent to attract the rest of the nation.

Granted it was the B1G championship, but is the bloom off "The Game"?

Being #4 nationwide probably not.

yes

IMHO this game being on ESPN hurts ratings.

If game was on ABC would have higher ratings.

This. It takes a USC, an Ohio State, etc. for people not in the South to give a shite

People weren't as interested in a double digit favorite playing a team that was obviously the odd man out over the defending champs playing what many regarded as the most "complete" team?
