Bettman is on the list of all time worst commissioners in any sport.

All I'm saying is this: Prior to Bettman, the best the NHL could do for a stanley cup TV rating was something like a 1.3 / 1.7 - last year they were just above a 4. That is more than double, almost triple the popularity amongst television viewers as a % of households watching the sport.
Ratings are great again this year, and better than last year. So tell me, while he has had 3 lockouts on his watch, the popularity of the sport is gaining. He's making the game more profitable for both players and owners who are both much wealthier because of him, not in spite of him.
He is a colossal a-hole, and I hate the lockouts, but he has been successful in promoting the sport.....Selig hasn't done shite.
Stern and Goodell just haven't fricked up.

LOL at people not putting Bettman last. Y'all must assume Goodell is the worst. But, I can assure you he isn't even close.

I have Stern, Bettman, Selig, and Goodell in a four-way tie for last place.

The guy is incredibly hated in Seattle. One of the most crooked men in the sports industry.

Classic Kige. Starts a thread, never posts in it again. Like a boss.

You know the commissioners are terrible when most people's number one is the most likely to have fixed games.

Even if Stern completely screwed over Seattle, the NBA might not exist right now without him. It was a fledgling league when he took over and he turned it into one of the most popular sports in the world.
