Do they sound out Hughes in the 8th?

Only 92 pitches thru 7..

So then every member of the Rangers is not clutch because they have never done anything in the postseason (besides Andrew Jones). Gotcha.

Why are you turning the tables...this has nothing to do with the Rangers.

You're dodging the point at hand.

24 of those RBI's have been in games that the Yankees have won. And 7 out of his 13 home runs have been in Yankee victories.

How many of those were blow out wins and how many of those statistics came when the Yankees were up by more than 5 runs?

Then again, you can obviously shatter your bat and hit it out of the new Yankee Stadium..

I wonder if he'll start tipping off some pitches...I mean this game is kind of ugly, so if the final score ended up being 10-6 or something, I wouldn't be surprised.

A home run is a home run.

Agree wholeheartedly. They need to either send Davis down to AAA or bench Blalock.

It's shocking to say this, but this team's offense has completely blown, for the most part, this year.

Arod was hitting .189 coming into today and leaves at .259. Not a bad day when you can raise your average 70 points.

Looks like it, and with a 11 run lead I would have to agree.

Looks like a good decision so far.

8 innings.

Great game, Hughes.

Now the 9th is a tougher call. He still has the shoutout in hand, but he is over 100 pitches. With an 11 run lead, I let him go for the shutout.

Move Aceves to the set up man.

Keep Wang in the pen if Hughes keeps pitching this well.

Agreed. That would be a great boost of confidence for Phil.. something he's been needing.

Not that I've heard. He's said the doctors haven't found anything wrong, but the pain keeps returning.

So who knows really?

Gay. Phil out, Alfredo in.

Not that Aceves is a bad pitcher by any means. Just would've liked to see Phil get the CG.

I think Hughes is still on a 100 pitch limit.
