Fwiw I never cared for the Rangers til I moved here in '09. I was a very casual Astros fan before that

Did I deny they had a lot of bandwagoners? No.

But you honestly can't be that delusional to not see the exorbitantly large bandwagon the Yankees, Red Sox, etc. have. Exponentially larger than that of the Rangers.

no it wasnt. Ive lived in Texas most of my conscience life and go to school up in East Texas. Please trust me when I say NOBODY (except for true fans, which im sure you are so this isnt directed at you) was sporting any Rangers gear before their World Series runs. So yes. The Texas Rangers are the biggest bandwaggon franchise in all of baseball.

Believe him I live in Hosuton and Rangers gear came up from nowhere

Yeah, I'm still not buying that the Rangers have a larger bandwagon following than the Yankees or Red Sox. Sorry.

There is no freaking way anyone that knows anything about baseball is arguing the Yankees and Redsox have less bandwagon fans than any other team...

It is not even close. Just take a look at the female population alone...

ETA: where do you think us ranger fans have lived the vast majority of our lives?

Those teams have a huge cult following and a MUCH bigger base fandom than the Rangers have/had. Even when they suck those fans still root for their teams, they just call it like it is and say they suck. I wouldnt necessarily call not sugar coating things bangwagonning.

But Im talking about people who actually live in the city the team is located or the surronding areas, not the whole nation. Of course the yankees and redsox have more out of state fans, they have a way bigger national and international draw, those are two faces of MLB.

Look, I'm not arguing that a lot of fans hopped on the bandwagon when the Rangers started having success. It's the way of the world. (See: New Orleans Saints.)

But the Yanks and Sox, especially the Yanks, have a following throughout the nation more so than any other team. The Yanks have it because of recent (past 10-15 years) successes. You saw even more of their stuff around. Isn't that the definition of a bandwagon fan?

i guess so Im not denying The Yanks and Red Sox have more of a national bandwaggon effect.

What Im saying is Dallas itself. East Texas, hell all of texas, even Houston, has seen a HUGE influx of Rangers fans in the last 3 years, many of whom couldnt name more than 2 players from the team 5 or 6 years ago.
