re: Quinnen Williams: It's not really fair that linemen are never in the Heisman conversation

Manning had as great of an NFL career as you can imagine but he did not deserve to win the Heisman.

Nothing Peyton Manning did in college warranted winning the Heisman

It’s fun, man. I look up to Ndamukong Suh and I remember Ndamukong Suh went to the Heisman so I was like ‘Man, it would be cool to go to the Heisman like Ndamukong Suh.'”
Who would look up to Suh? strictly playing style sure, but he's a POS

Something like a really down QB/RB year and then a Derwin James or Honey Badger snagging 14 INTs and 12 sacks or something. Maybe add some return TDs.
Just look at honey badgers season in 2011
59 solo tackles
6 forced fumbles
5 fumble recoveries
2 TDs off of fumble returns
2 INTs
2 return TDs (and both of those were huge momentum shifting plays that lead to LSU's appearance in the BCS title game)
If anything he at least surpassed what Woodson did to win the Heisman

Definitely not on the same level, but Williams absolutely wrecked LSU this year.
There was a good portion of the game where it felt like within 1.5 seconds of every snap he was standing in the backfield effectively ending whatever LSU was trying to do. Hell he was beating double teams then beating a scrambling Burrow to the sideline sometimes. It was incredible.
I’m not ready to talk about that yet.
Seriously though, you’re right. That’s not to say that Williams should have won or even gotten an invite to NYC, but he should have at a minimum been part of the conversation. If Will Grier (not throwing shade at him) was a fringe candidate then Williams most certainly should have been too.
