PSA Grading/Lebron rookie question

So I collected a lot of cards in the early 90s through early 00s and then got out of it and really just have collected Auburn cards the last 15-20 years. I know most of the cards from that era ended up worthless so I never really thought anything I had was worth selling.
I happened to stumble across a card show today and somebody had an ungraded Lebron James Bowman rookie for sale for $1,200. Well hell, I bought that for like 20 bucks when I was in college. I asked the guy selling if he ever bought cards and he said of course he had to see it but he bought the one he was selling for $600, which I would be thrilled to get. However, I just got home and saw on ebay graded 8-9 ones are for sale for 2-3k.
I guess my question is what is the grading process like? Do a decent amount of cards come back with 8 or 9 grades or is that hard to get? I just read PSA is currently suspended. Should I hold out and get the card graded or just try to sell it for maybe 4 or 5 hundred bucks to this guy?

Depends on condition. If it’s a psa 8-10 it’s worth waiting and grading. If you could post pictures of it I could tell you for sure either way

If it it’s good shape, no bent corners, no wrinkles, then send it in and see what you can get.

It’s still worth it to get graded if it comes back an 8. Psa is closed now tho

That’s a good looking card, send it to PSA only and wait.

Beckett Grading is also another reputable grading company. If you don’t need the money right now absolutely get it graded and hold on to it. That card could turn into your retirement.

June or July unless you want to pay $300 to get it graded. And email?

Centering looks good but surface and edges seems subpar. Corners look alright. Prolly an 8 but might be a 9 if graded.
