Done.

ETA:From the videos that I posted, I really think the "And Arazi runs right by him" may be one of my favorite calls. Simple and an exact description of what happened.

I don't either but wouldn't be mad if it happened. The connenctions story is cool, but I hate seeing all the attention that California breeding is getting that I was hoping La breeding would get with Vicar's. It was cool that he was bought for 8K at the Equine Sales of Louisiana's first yearling sale and I was hoping he would be able to promote them with better horses coming in. I have been anti chrome sense before the derby because I wanted Vicar's with the attention and now I just can't seem to flip the switch to like him. When I am looking at a horse for me I can seperate and usually make a smart decision. When it comes to the big races I usually let my heart get in the way.

You know how much of a chance he has? Follow the money man: Ladbrokes just put the odds at 2-1 for a CC Triple Crown at 3 weeks out.

Just rewatched the race, and I bet that Bob Baffert is disliking Ria Antonia's owners more and more, not only did they move her, but then their horse screwed Bayern's chances, not just by demolishing him at the gate, but then squeezing him again around the first turn.

But he's an into mischief out of a vicar.

He'll whoop up on some la breds next year and also end up being a solid graded stakes horse. If they choose races wisely he'll pick up quite a few more good races. He'll probably be better closer to 1-1 1/8th

La will get one. With the whole every other year thing the state breds are getting so much better.

Just heard we won another that I didn't watch. I'm bad luck.

3 for 3 today

Well, you damn sure better be working on Belmont Day.

Question: have they expanded the Los Alamitos track or are they going to be running TB races on a 5/8ths track? Talk about a bull ring. NO wonder California Chrome is so good at cornering.

But I didn't work derby day.

And I watched the Preakness. Actually clocked out, locked up, and stayed late to make sure I didn't miss it, just didn't get time to watch hubby's (oops )

What does it mean when you say your horse got claimed?

He has Off Cycle in his barn too?

I watched him tear it up all FG meet.

Looks like last 2 days 5 starts 4 wins and a second.

Tell them to save some of that for us little guys.

Yep

Had her brother on cycle too. That's where the name came from.

Hubby is up at lad this summer. I hope they keep running like this! More pony supplies for me

Horse who just won is a la bred by more than ready. The breed out rule is really strengthening things down here. Louisiana will get a big one soon.

The lower level races are claiming races. Each horse has a price on their heads. The claim is dropped for a set price on the horse and once the gate is open it is yours. Depending on the state, even if a horse gets hurt or dies, it is still yours.

I know California has a state vet check all claimed horses and can void any claim if the horse is unsound after the race.

some races are designated as claiming races, which allows people to buy any of the horses in the race at a set amount.

There is different levels of races the preakness is the top being graded stakes race.

Then they have on graded stakes races followed by allowance races and then claiming races. (There is why more in there but this is the basic structure). So claiming is the lowest level races. When you run a horse in a claiming race somebody can buy that horse at that race for that set claiming price. It might be 5,000 or 10,000 or even 40,000. So somebody bought or claimed my horse from me Thursday and I claimed or bought one tonight out of a race.

I felt like the horse had some left in the tank at them derby for sure. He obviously pulled up to slow down. I didn't get that feel today. I felt like he gave it a very strong run but would have died if there would have been an extra 5/16. Tough on three weeks rest against some horses that may be a bit fresh.

I will have him on my tickets for sure. Just not overly excited about this one

Really. I had been watching him too. He destroyed Caddo Native a while back and that isn't an easy task. I know Broberg has him now and he is like the claiming god. It feels like 50% of the claims are his.

If the connections are smart they would pass, IMO. You would be asking a whole lot of a horse with minimal experience.
