Wish I had a better update on Robe guys, but its not good
"His liver seems to be failing. The Doctors told his wife the family should come. She asked him if tomorrow would be ok, (as i'm assuming they came in for the prayer service,) the Drs said they better get there tonight." Came from a family member. So sad. This really sucks

Yeah sadly, doctors are correct most of the time when they call the family in. Hoping for a late miracle.

Damn that sucks to hear...sorry for getting people's hopes up. That's just what I heard at the time from a reliable source. Still have hope he fights through it

The Mrs. and I were at the prayer service tonight at the stadium. I’d say there were at least over 500 people there praying for Coach Robe’s recovery.

What you heard was correct, but things took a serious turn this evening. Really hope he can somehow pull through. Praying hard

Absolutely horrible. Great guy who did a lot for the game of baseball in our state. Praying things can turn around for him

many people in that situation, have a slight uptick in condition and lucidity before things spiral away.

Unfortunately that seems to be accurate.

It happened to my grandmother. Saturday she is perfectly and even cutting the grass (riding lawnmower). Sunday has a stomach ache and reluctantly goes to the hospital just for check up. Monday she's in ICU and sedated. Thursday afternoon her condition by all accounts seems to be greatly improving and we are hopeful she can go home the next week. Friday morning we get a call to bring the family to the hospital and she dies an hour later.

I really hope for the coach's sake that's not the case, but it, unfortunately, wouldn't be shocking.

Ok, I will plead ignorance here and am prepared to be downvoted into oblivion, but I'm asking the question regardless.

Again, let me preface by saying that I love Coach and truly hope he recovers. Just look at my username...

But my question - Why the Gofundme? He makes $200K a year and I'm sure that the University probably has pretty good insurance.

Again, just asking. Not saying it's bad, but just curious.

The money is to help his family with travel expenses and anything Robe's medical won't cover.
