Like they did Auburn this weekend?

Texas?

South Flordia or whatever G5 they struggled with?

Texas really does not deserve to make the playoffs but they absolutely should make it over bama no matter what. If bama beats Georgia then bama and texas both should be in and Georgia is out.

Florida state should be out no matter what but I know that won’t happen.

Oregon/Washington is gonna get screwed I think.

Ohio St is eliminated imo. Sorry but even if Texas and all the undefeated teams lose, Bama and Oregon are locks in that scenario and the final 2 spots is a battle between Michigan/UGA/Washington. OSU at the very least isn't getting in over Michigan because of head to head and I just don't think the committee takes OSU over either Washington or UGA. Both 12-0 going into their CCG and Washington would be 1-1 vs Oregon.

Ohio State can talk about resumes all they want compared to UGA, but Mizzou and Ole Miss are every bit as good as Penn St/ND which are the only 2 wins Ohio State has worth a shite. They aren't going to leap UGA in the pecking order in my opinion.

I think Washington is pretty overrated. They haven't looked good since the Oregon game.

Yes, they have their record but... Needed a FG to beat 5-7 Wazzou, and it wasn't a shootout, as the most recent example.

Bama doesn’t have a path in. Texas blew them out in Tuscaloosa

I don't disagree, I have feeling they'd be the one left out and with maximum chaos in the championship games it would be Michigan and UGA getting the final 2 spots with Bama and Oregon.

So lets say the committee says Mizzou and Ole Miss = Penn St and ND (because it is pretty close), even though IMO the latter two will (rightly or wrongly) have more weight because they are bigger brands.

Then you compare the losses. If UGA loses it would be to number 8 Alabama at a neutral site. Ohio St's loss would be to now number 1 Michigan, and it would have been @ Michigan in a close game.

Now Georgia will have the pedigree of having won the last two championships, but the committee claims to look at each season as its own entity.

I think Ohio St has a better chance at getting in over Georgia than you think.

People saying Ohio St and Bama have no path in is pure ignorance. Especially if you are saying it about Bama. Bama needs a big win, and maybe a little help (maybe). That's it. Ohio St needs pure chaos, but they are at the very least in the debate.

You think Michigan would be at 1 after losing to Iowa?

The committee ranks team based on strength of resumes.

If Bama and Texas win their CCG:

Bama: 3 top 15 wins, 1 loss to a one-loss team
Texas: 1 top 15 win, 1 loss to a two-loss team

There is no honest debate as to which resume would be better.

You’re objectively wrong. Bama sealed their fate losing (big) to Texas at home. Head to head is a clear, and the best, factor when comparing two teams. Texas will get in over them 100/100 times even if Bama beats UGA.

Not really. Alabama actually led going into the 4th quarter and it was a back-and-forth game. Texas did score about midway through the 4th quarter to go up 10. Not exactly a blowout.

That's not to say it was a good loss. It wasn't. But this talk about it being a blowout is revisionist.

My question is why is it Bama and Texas being compared and Oregon being given the pass for their early-season loss? Why is Oregon not being compared alongside them? Cause their resume is trash.

2. Oregon - probably win and they are in. You could have some debate on this if Texas and/or Bama also win, but I think Oregon would get the nod in this situation.

Oregon needs Georgia to win so the discussion is Oregon vs Texas.

If Bama beats UGA, I think Texas might get in over Oregon because of resume. Also how TF can you keep Texas out when they are 12-1 with a 10-pt road win over the SEC Champ.

You can't bring any of that logic here. A lot of who is reading this is LSU fans who despise Bama. So if the metric that Bama trails in is head to head, then that becomes the most important metric. If Bama would have won against Texas, but lost to Tennessee, and also swapped resumes with Texas then the same people would be arguing that the resume should matter more than the head to head.

I legit had a person try to tell me that Bama would be banned from the playoffs all together because of the hit on J Daniels. He was legit series too. That's the kind of people you are dealing with here.

Texas mercy kneed at the Bama 30 to end the game. Texas also has a higher SOS.

Texas >>> Bama and it’s not close.
