USC have so much success against your conference

They would probably own most of our conference...but at the same time I think we would beat most of the teams in their conference. After what we did to Oregon State (who beat them) I'd put us up against anyone else in the Pac 10 and give us a pretty good shot to win.

Yeah I give you guys all the credit in the world because you've been doing it on a bigger stage than we have. I was at our last bowl game against Texas in 97 and we always go to a bowl game like that hearing how tough the other conference is but we manage to do alright out of conference.

I was also at the bowl in Florida the following year when the Gators beat us. We didn't have two of our best offensive weapons (Enis and Jurevicius) but I think they would've gotten us on that day regardless. We were a mess that game.

Agree 100%. But yet those idiots out west take pride in that shitty arse conference. I guess they do lots of drugs out west.

An unbeaten Alabama and especially once-beaten Florida and UGA, must be getting nervous about now, as Texas, PSU, and USC, seem to have them possibly boxed-out as of current..

Alabama will not be left out if they go undefeated. No chance at this point.

The computers don't like USC much and that isn't likely to change much, so I think they'd be left out vs. a 1-loss SEC Champ or Big XII champ.

4-0 in BCS games.

Although, the games against Illinois and Notre Dame were pretty big mismatches.

I understand the skepticism we will get this year if we get there thanks to you guys and Florida slaughtering the Bucks the last two years on the biggest stage. It's tough to convince people we're not going down the same road because we play in the Big 10.

I just think we will not go into any bowl game against anyone without being 100 percent ready to play. If the talent on the other side is better than beat us on the field and we'll take our lumps and that's that. But give us a shot to shock the world.

While I think USC is legit as hell, beating a bunch of crap Big10 teams like Illinois and Michigan, along with OU (who has a 1-4 BCS record) isn't THAT impressive.

the only crap team USC has played in a BCS bowl was Illinois last year. They are 5-1 in BCS bowls winning all five by double digits and losing the greatest game every by 3 when they where leading with 20 seconds to go.

If you are not impressed by that either your standards are too high or you are a flaming ranter.

I would think USC's SOS will cost them versus any of the three remaining SEC BCSCG possibilities.

Why PSU and Texas SOS would hold up over any of the remaining SEC teams has me perplexed, let's hope that the Big-12's flag-football-fest, and the Big-10's party of poop, starts to show up in the numbers here forth.

PSU was 7th in the computers before tonight, and a distant 3rd in the overall standings. They'll get a little bump, but will still be way behing Alabama.

I still don't think it's likely (but possible) that a 1-loss SEC champ goes over an undefeated Penn State team, even though if UF or UGA run the table I'd personally have them ranked higher than Penn State.

You need to accept the idea that teams outside of the SEC can be good. After next week, Texas will have played 4 strait games against teams that had a COMBINED 1 loss going into the game, how that SOS perplexes you perplexes me.

USC/Texas?

Yeah, it's a bit hyperbolic, but a solid nominee.

There's just a few too many SEC fans living in the past 2 years. The SEC is nowhere near what it was the past two seasons. Still good, but definitely not what it was.

2002 Iowa was okay
2003 Michigan was their best Big10 team (not great)
2004 OU was overhyped as they always are
2005 UT was fantastic
2006 Michigan was severly overhyped
2007 Illinois just wasn't very good

Looking at who USC has on their roster, then looking at these teams, it's not that impressive. Their record is fantastic and is impressive in the grand scheme of things, but when you think of who they are and who they're playing, take it with a grain of salt. Same goes for LSU with Illinois, OU, ND, and OSU as our opponents. Impressive, but not necessarily beastly teams.

Are you laughing at me calling Texas USC the greatest game ever?

If that's so funny, name me a better one?

Not on defense at least.

The SEC is still badass, though. I still think there are four teams that would be 1 or 2 in the Big 10 or PAC-10.

I don't doubt the quality of Texas, and am not an blind SEC homer, but on a neutral field, I have Florida a solid near TD chalk over PSU, and like them at Pick 'Em vs Texas and USC.

Bama has a puncher's chance vs anybody if they make it, based on D, Coaching, and if JPW has a good day. UGA's D lacks should they win out, but their Offense can move it versus most anyone.

outside of Illinois, all those teams were ranked in the top 10 and USC the beat the living frick out of them. You say OU was over hyped, them were fricking undefeated, they lost the BCS CG the year before by a TD (a pick 6 by a DE if you remember). Since getting drilled by USC they have been a tab overhyped maybe, but that year they were not. That's impressive hoss, if you don't get that you are just biased, plan and simple.
