What? You said the tour and Monohan are winners. Now your piling on with a poster saying the tour is getting butt fricked? Another PridePivot.

quote:

Show me all the threads pre 2022 where these posters were claiming golf needed wholsale changes and the product was poor.Show them. The truth is those threads don’t exist, but the exact opposite does. There were threads galore on how strong golf was and how the pga was better than ever

We weren’t aware of the players complaints and how the tour laughed at them to their faces. What you wrote above is a ridiculous standard and laughable.

quote:

So it’s a complete lie to act like they wanted anything more than drama. Bonds will come in here and talk about lay and financials, but how is that anything related to the fans?

Yep. And as a fan I think the players were being shite on. I understand you don’t think beyond what is on your tv…some of us do and it isn’t because we like drama. Dummy.

Because when has the fan ever cared about the players not getting paid as much as they think they should? Seriously, why, why on earth would you care about that

Besides the fact I have a good friend on tour, because a properly compensated player allows for the tour to be stronger. Not sure how you couldn’t get there on your own.

When you don’t properly compensate them, look what happens. You’ve been melting about it for years. Perhaps if you cared prior to 2022 this wouldn’t have occurred. I certainly wouldn’t be mocking someone else for caring about it.

Had I known how Monohan laughed at the players financial objections in 2022 I would have posted about it.

So if pre 2022, I would have made a thread saying

“I hope a rival tour comes and pays some players 100 million to play 54 holes, and then some good players leave the tour and it’s separate entities. That would be a good thing”

You would have been all on board right? And LIv fans now would have upvoted me and said how awesome that sounds?

You idiot. If you had said “Monohan should listen to the players concerns and allow them to partner I. Some select additional events instead of laughing in their faces and completely dismissing them”. I would have been on board.

The PGA, much like you, could not see the big picture. Too simple minded to think through to the final conclusion. The tour, like you, deserves what has happened for being so simple minded and short sighted.

Are you dumb? You asked a question. Bond answered and you then you go off on another tangent.

That's what the world is thinking about Monahan right now. Come on America, you can trust this guy.

But that isn’t what you cheered on. You cheered on the splitting of golf

From a fan perspective, someone who doesn’t have a single financial tie in the sport of pro golf, what you rooted for makes zero sense

You rooted for a product you loved, and everyone on here was claiming the strongest ever, to be weakened because some millionaires thought they should be richer

The players wanting liv makes logical sense, but for you, it’s a fricking epic logic pretzel

Well, in fairness, they are. This whole thing, at the end of the day, was all about money and only money. Money the Saudis had and the PGA didn't. Now the PGA, and Jay, are going to get a financial boost from that Saudi money (assuming Jay is kept around), so in that sense they are winners.

What's really weird, to me at least, is whenever there's a dispute regarding players' compensation in major sports, for whatever reason the fans typically take the side of ownership and tell the players "shut up and play, you make a ton of money playing a game." Hell, it almost destroyed baseball in 1994 before a steroids induced homerun chase saved it. With the PGA Tour and all that's gone on the past 2-3 years, fans have kind of taken the opposite approach, by and large. Not saying who is right and wrong, just something I've noticed.

I've answered that in detail and don't remember one reply. Maybe you have one.

"You can't seem to understand that I'm for free agency? Look, guy, LIV changed the PGA long before this merger and for the best economically. No one expected this merger but I've believed all along that Monahan was stealing from the players before LIV.

PGA players didn't even own their NIL. Golfers who could barely afford to travel to a PGA event still had to pay for their own lockers when they got there. This is a tale of Barry Gordie and Motown all over again. Just in sports.

To watch Jay Monahan get totally exposed by his own greed was exactly who I believed this varmint was. As I said earlier and I'll be happy to repeat it.

"Politics makes strange Bedfellow." Anyone that tries to make moral decisions based on political propaganda deserve what they get.

So you've been lied to by Monahan and he's now sleeping with the enemy. Why do you keep carrying Monahan's water? Which is amazing to me."

I fully understand saying “the players deserve more” or “I would leave for the LIv money”. That makes sense

But as a fan, why would you basically cheer on a strike? You can agree the players are right, but it in no way shape or form is helping you the fan. It’s only harming the product you view

We went from posters saying “golf is great and the strongest ever” to a few months later cheering on a major disruption to the product.

The tour deserved what they got. I got more golf to watch. It was a win win.

But outside the majors and a couple select tournaments, didn't you get more golf in exchange for more watered down fields? Maybe it was more golf, but was it better golf?

Every week Thursday- Sunday I could watch golf. It was there. LIv didn’t add more golf for me to watch. It made more watered down golf. The golf was already there to be watched. LIv didn’t add any new players for me that were worth watching. They just took existing players I enjoyed and had them play in events that weren’t as good. He will argue that’s more, and to me it isn’t

That doesn’t bother me. There are so many good golfers out there. If Scottie skips a tourney, like this week, some other stick steps in.

A few weeks ago LIV gave us three extra hours of golf to watch. The pga tourney was over and LIV was on. It was awesome.

I just don’t believe you here, just like you don’t believe some things I say

When you already have almost 12 hours of golf coverage in a day, you aren’t looking for more.
