Sorta. It's like a performance bonus and you'd still of course get superstar NIL money for the elite players. May even give incentive for players to play harder. I don't like money being the motivation for it but that's what we have to deal with now in NCAA like it or not. Adapt to it or die getting left behind.

Sooo.... socialism?

For context, in 2019 Raydar Jones, who saw no field time, would have made as much as Joe Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Moss and Edwards-Helaire.

Pass.

This isn't the problem.

The problem is that it doesn't move the needle on the most important aspect of pay for play we are having.

You have to pay a lot more money for top talent. You will not get top talent without paying top money.

People need to stop thinking emotionally. It doesn't matter what you think is fair. What matters is the objective (talent acquisition) and how to accomplish it.

A 30k across the board payment won't accomplish it.

The school can’t pay the players. That’s not NIL

Honest question: How have so many on this board, on Facebook, hell just walking around in the United States never heard of Cost of Attendance money? They get paid thousands of dollars per semester before NIL comes into the equation. So school is paid, room, food, then COA on top of that all by the school. THEN NIL money on top of that so the narrative they’re poor college kids is bullshite.

Don’t believe Hollywood’s version with their new movie.

Why would we pay someone who is getting room, board, tuition, and food for free???

Pay every team member $30k per season with incentives for goals if stars don’t want it go elsewhere
then every athlete on campus would need to get that. Won’t happen.

That’s the ‘crowd fund’ thing I heard. I’m all in to ensure every player that comes is going to get $15K per year or so. The stars can get what they can get but at least everyone gets something.

Or better yet, don’t pay anyone. Avoid the issues we have now. Let the players earn a name for themselves and get drafted to the NFL. Many people predicted the issues with NIL. It’s not rocket science.

Or, let's give them all full scholarships, feed them like Kings, treat them like Gods, fly them to events in chartered jets while staying at the best hotels and dining at the finest restaurants. Build them the finest facilities that can be designed. Put them on TV and highlight their every move. Then, lets give them thousands in gear, shoes, hats, etc.

If that is not enough, tell them to hit the road and go somewhere else.
