Ask for Von money gets you shipped the F out to the worst team in the league.
LOL. Savage Pats.

They have a ton of pending free agents : Hightower, Sheard , Marty B, Ryan, Harmon, Long and guys like Gronk and Edelman want to renegotiate
Posted on 10/31/16 at 1:55 pm to LandonC
Edelman isn't in a good place to be demanding a new contract
Posted on 10/31/16 at 1:56 pm to wildtigercat93
Why not? He has one year left after this one and has way outperformed $4.25 million per year

I don't get Cleveland doing it considering they are 0-8

They can franchise him, pay him as a free agent, or receive back a compensatory pick if he signs with another team.
Literally a can't lose proposition from the Browns perspective.

I don't think he would count as a lost free agent for the browns after less than a month on the roster

His performance has dipped considerably this year and the Pats are much deeper at WR than in the past, and he missed time with injury last year, which injuries are the same reason he couldn't find a home in FA last time
Plus you got Danny basically playing for free just to stay a patriot
ETA I love Jules, but he's got hardly enough leverage to get a new contract

Chandler Jones just puts up massive playoff pass rush statistics.
Oh wait, he doesn't.
I'm not bashing the guy, he is a fantastic early season pass rusher, he just fades like crazy.

Hightower will get big money.
Sheard was great last year, but hasn't been that good this year. It could be scheme related, as they have zero inside push and are constantly playing contain with their ends.
Marty B could be paid by the Patriots, they've been looking for that second TE for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him money to stay.
Ryan is gone unless he takes a team friendly contract. He has been awful this year, and Eric Rowe is already ahead of him on the depth chart.
Harmon is a better than league average FS, so he's gone.
Long is in the same boat as Sheard, but with way less upside so he may resign for a team friendly.
Gronk signed a massive contract, so I doubt they renegotiate.
Edelman went to the Wes Welker school of dropping passable catches but still getting credit for having good hands. I'm nervous with him, as he does not have anywhere near the shiftiness of his pre-injury days.

Posted on 10/31/16 at 4:55 pm to lsutigers1992
Because they wanted to make sure they didn't see him in the playoffs. And , yeah , he wants Von Miller money.

Don't get this for either team. Pats should be in win now mode and Browns in rebuild and add/stock picks mode
Collins allowed a 28 yard play on first Bills drive because he was out of position. he's a free agent at end of season.
you get a LOW 3rd rounder high 4th rounder, instead of nada.
Browns get high potential, if player fits scheme. and player is talented without scheme.
the presumption is that Patriots are chastened into submission.
addition by subtraction.
plus there is the apoplexy factor. coach split a gasket, when Collins blew the play.

Well they would've gotten a similar pick for him leaving in FA, they just took the pick now instead of keeping him on the team
Another sign that bodes to the theory that his attitude was poisoning the locker room a bit
Basically BB wasn't going to pay him regardless of his play this season because of his inconsistent effort, because giving that effort a big contract just sends the message to the rest of the locker room that that behavior is rewarded
Plus they really like Roberts
(All this is from Lombardi on the BS podcast)

It'll be interesting to see how they come out and play coming out of this bye week. They've got a big game against Seattle, if you see a lot of dudes running with a fire in their arse you'll know what's up

He'll be an unrestricted FA in 2017. Perhaps the Pats weren't going to resign him and it puts a damper on his value in a trade too.

It's a locker room thing. Bill sending a message. Him shipping off to Cleveland wasn't a coincidence either.
ETA there's also no way to know what compensate pick they would get. It's a formula based on people you lose vs pick up
