Do you even know what RP did? Are you comparing what Tress did with RP? If so you may want to think before you post. Amazing

I know Gary Parrish is a basketball writer, but he's still well connected.
Quote on his radio show yesterday.
"After talking to some football friends at ESPN and CBS, I'll tell you right now...I have a better chance than Jim Tressel of being the football coach at OSU in 2012."
Worth noting, that he was the first person, to predict Pearl's demise. He was saying Pearl wouldn't make it well before the season even started.
I think Tressel coaches this year. And he'll be let go shortly before their meeting with the infractions committee.

I don't understand why some are comparing this to RP. It's a completely different situation. And additionally, Miles did in fact kick him off the team. He knew that he was putting his on job on the line by doing that because we had 2 very mediocre seasons after that and haven't had a QB since.
What the OSU fans are afraid of is that Tressel leaving will mean OSU will be down for at least a couple years. You can say yall will be fine, but it's probably not the case. He's one of the most successful coaches you've ever had ... you don't just replace that.

Thats true, but it has no bearing on this situation. Of course you could draw the comparison that it really isnt. Its not like the guy giving the tats isnt the key member of a federal drug investigation.

retire/fire...at this point in time there's really no difference.

-time for ohio state and JT to part ways.
-ohio state should have at least one more national title the past ten years.
-(2005 or 2006) more NFL talent than any other team in the NCAA (quantified by number of players drafted these years, especially in the first/second rounds). however, poor coaching decisions (the justin zwick debacle for example) cost osu a shot at a title.
-lucked the way into the 2008 title game only to get whooped by very beatable lsu team (getting out-coached by les miles is never flattering)
-currently, it has taken JT three years to adjust his offense to TPs dual-threat capabilities. TP is a dumbass but he could have put up cam newton-like numbers if JT would have utilized him appropriately. (imagine urban meyer with TP or braxton miller)
-the talent is enormous in ohio and ohio state has a 99% monopoly on all elite HS players-this will not change with a new coach.

Theyre starting to lose the monopoly on elite Ohio players too. The number 1 LB in the state goes south 2 years in a row. Plus Hoke is making inroads.

Actually, I think the first person was Hatvol on VN.
To be honest, it seemed pretty obvious to me that Hamilton didn't mean what he was saying. I felt pretty confident in saying that Pearl would be gone pretty soon after the whole thing started. I feel like there's no way it could turn out any different for Tressel.

I don't even think you have to have connections to predict something like that. Its just common sense. He lied to the NCAA about the eligibility of 5 of his players. He is done.
It was blatantly fricking obvious that Pearl was done long before Tennessee got around to firing him. This is no different, except for the fact that Tressel's violations were worse than Pearl's.
